Starting this Sunday, buses in St Helens return to public control for the first time in 40 years.
What to expect:
🚍 Brand-new state-of-the-art buses
🚍Extended routes & higher evening/weekend frequencies
🚍 New X3 express service to Liverpool John Lennon Airport
🚍 5,000 more residents within short walking distance to stops
The rollout begins in St Helens before expanding across the entire region by 2027.

At the UK Walking Summit in Liverpool there was a reminder of why active travel matters. Lilian Greenwood announced a national plan to improve women’s safety, with 9 in 10 feeling unsafe at night. All of this feeds into the launch of Better Streets for Liverpool with 10 asks.
