He shut out the Owen Sound Attack yesterday. Would be wild if he breaks the record.
Newsy on record watch 🧱
The current OHL record for most consecutive shutouts is held by former Windsor Spitfire Michael DiPietro. The record is 3 games, 204 minutes and 16 seconds.
With Newlove’s third shutout tonight, he is now on the brink of history 👀

Unsurprisingly, fans of the socialist publically-owned Kitchener Rangers are really spreading the money around in support of Spencer. Not exactly what we celebrate up here in private equity country, but it's for a good cause so I'll allow it.
Here is the link for Spencer Byers’ cancer fundraiser.
He has surpassed his goal, and the Mohawk is being shaved off on November 7.
But if @OHLRangers fans can raise another $3000, he will dye the Mohawk red, white, and blue for that game vs Kitchener.

Greg Walters isn't taking any credit for the 10-1-0-0 run against Owen Sound since getting the job in Windsor.
"Good players," he said with a chuckle when asked to explain the dominance against his former team.
Another shorthanded goal for Windsor, 8-0 spits. That's the 10th of the year for rookie Bogdan Yakushevshy.
Jace Voortman will wear an 'A' for Team Canada White at the U17s.

Ryerson Leenders is out of the net now as the Windsor Spitfires take a 6-0 lead in the second period. First OHL action for true rookie Mitchell Nouwens.
After 20 minutes, the Windsor Spitfires are up 2-0 on the Owen Sound Attack.
WSR: Bergeron *PP (Cristoforo, Yakushevsky), Cristoforo (Harvey, Debruyn).
Shots: 14-12, Owen Sound.
What a period from Anthony Cristoforo. A little half-spin how do ya' do at the side of the net with Windsor on the power play, then chips his own rebound home.
It's 2-0 Windsor over the Attack.
Rookie Ty Bergeron opens the scoring. Anthony Cristoforo makes a great pass to spring Bergeron up the middle at full speed.
It's 1-0, Spitfires late in the first period.
Wow. It looks like Ethan Kindree opened the scoring in Owen Sound, but the officials waved it off after a coach's challenge for goaltender interference.
Still scoreless in Owen Sound. Windsor killed off a long five-on-three.
Many men. Many, many, many, many men, wish audio problems on me. Guys in the booth can't hear, but they gonna see.
Ryerson Leenders on the black tape lines he puts on the blade of his stick. Sometimes two. Today three.
