Nine years apart. Is the newer Royal actually better?
My guy @scollard23 compared the 2017 and 2026 pairs, both unworn and size 11.
His takeaway: the 2017 has brighter blue and a taller cut. The 2026 brings a bigger Swoosh, embossed Wings and black leather he prefers, but a sharper midsole upturn at the toe. He still leans toward the 2017’s overall shape.
That’s the conversation. Changing the details doesn’t mean everybody will prefer the result.
2017 or 2026? Tell me which detail makes the difference for you. I’m V2 all the way… but I personally still don’t own these so what say you?
