Oh, Uncharted 2 ? Written and directed by Amy Hennig, who created the whole franchise ? The same Amy Hennig who "left" Naughty Dog soon after Neil became vice-president WHILE SHE WAS WORKING on Uncharted 4, then he started doing rewrites on said game before every website and browsers started saying that he was "the creator of Uncharted" for some reason ?
Uncharted, the franchise that got a movie where the first writer left because he wanted Amy Hennig's approval, but Neil said "no", so they got somebody else who just followed Neil's commands and we got one of the most disposable and forgettable movies ever made ?

This is a really good question.
My take on it is,
there's a tendency to learn the wrong lessons in these situations.
See Madame Web, Kraven, Morbius.
*Their* thinking, they think like suits. Meaning, a successful brand doesn't require any effort. Just slap the brand label on it and people will come.
That's not actually true, but *they* think it is. They think everything is going to be Jurassic Park.
So I have zero confidence that acquiring more rights or more IP means that we get better stories, because they don't think that way.
Would this be a good thing?
Sony hasn't set the world on fire with the approximately 900 Marvel characters whose film rights they own.
Then again, the last 7 years of Marvel slop hasn't exactly been something to write home about.
Does a fully integrated Spider-Man set it free to achieve its full potential, or would it go full Indiana Jones, Star Wars, and MCU Phases 4, 5, & 6?
