Does the success of lower spending small market teams this postseason dispel the notion of inequality in #MLB? #Guardians president of baseball operations Chris Antonetti has thoughts

Here’s the harsh truth about the Cleveland Guardians. We’ve made the playoffs three straight seasons, but what have we actually proven? 2024: Beat the No. 6 seed in the ALDS in five games with home field advantage. Then faced a legitimate World Series contender in the ALCS and lost. 2025: Lost in the ALDS to the No. 6 seed and got completely outcoached. 2026: Once again, needed five games and home field advantage to beat the No. 6 seed. Then faced a legitimate contender in the ALCS, got completely outcoached, and lost. At some point, we need to stop pretending that reaching the ALCS automatically makes us one of the four best teams in baseball. The reality is that we’ve benefited from an expanded playoff format that allows a sixth seed into October. A format designed more to generate revenue than reward the best teams. When we face legitimate championship contenders, the difference in talent, preparation, adjustments, and coaching becomes painfully obvious. We aren’t consistently beating elite teams in October. We’re surviving against the lowest seed in the field and then getting exposed when the competition improves. I love this team and always will but a lot of you are blinded by your fandom

I know Angel Martinez was god awful in the playoff but if you get rid of him he’s gonna do exactly what the GuardiRays players did to us this series

When the worst “fan” the team has disagrees with you, that’s all the confirmation I need to know my take is correct

Being completely honest here. I hope Vogt leaves for the Seattle job. Great motivator but one of the worst in game managers to ever do it

Everyone whining about my post didn’t watch this team all year. This team was way better than their record and had to catch fire at the end of September again. How many times did Vogt bring in Festa down 1 run or tied game resulting in the game being blown open

Or did you watch him continue to have David Fry and Hoskins to face lefties and tell me how that worked out? Fry hits better off right handed hitters yet he continues to do the same thing over and over again. If you actually watched all season you understand my frustration

There's always next year — as long as the league and union agree on a new collective bargaining agreement.

Vogt managed the pitching staff so poorly that Gavin Williams pitched one time in a 6 game series to go to the World Series

How many unproductive outs can this team make? At least move the guy over with no outs on 2nd base

Every at bat they attempt pull homers. Fly ball merchants. The Brewers and Rays put the ball in the play and look where they are

While a lack of hitting might eventually do in the Guardians (credit to the Rays), one of the great mysteries is what happened to Tanner Bibee. I know, Bibee wasn't great, but he led CLE in starts/innings. How Matt Festa is more trustworthy than your opening-day starter needs an explanation.
