Sir Winston Churchill with his grandson Nicholas Soames in 1954. A year before the little boy had sneaked past various secretaries who were on guard, and slipped into Churchill’s bedroom to find the war leader in bed reading a newspaper. “Granddad, is it true you’re the greatest man in the world?”he asked him. A bizarre story - fake news! - is going the rounds in the U.S. media that we Brits are “demanding” the return of the original Winnie-the-Pooh, who now lives in the New York Public Library. There were hopes that Pooh might come back to the UK for a vacation, but that's all.
