Once a young woman came to see Charles Haddon Spurgeon and asked him if she could date a young man who was an unbeliever.
She said her aim was to lead him to Christ and so she had decided to be engaged to him soon.
Spurgeon asked the lady to climb up onto a high table.
She could not but obey.
Spurgeon already quite advanced in age, told the girl to grasp his hand and try her best to pull him up onto the table.
She tried but of course, she could not do it.
Then Spurgeon said he would pull her down. And with just one pull, she came down.
He said ''It is easy to be pulled down, but hard to pull up.''
That sister gained clarity that day.

My friends dad says we are going to wake up one day and have amaphara as ministers because we are too busy to attend to politics 🥺 we don’t belong to branches, we are not concerned with being influential in the various structures yet we have the audacity to complain that we have unqualified and uneducated ministers. It’s because they concerned themselves with local politics and thina with our degrees and big English we’re just chasing money.

I’m upset that he’s so correct. The most organized political party in this country is a movement of people who make the time…qualified or unqualified. They also are a mobilisation machine!!! So, the people at the conference will vote for the options they have.. whether they are bribed to or not… Oksalayo… the options they have are then what the country gets when they win! 😭😩😣
It’s our fault we are where we are today. We are not being the change we want to see… whichever party you believe is better than the other, if you want change, get involved.

An underreported positive reason why the birth rate is declining because we are quickly eradicating teenage pregnancy. The decrease has also meant a decline in high risk pregnancies and infant mortality. An important feat to celebrate.🥂

According to @OldMutualSA Savings and Investment Monitor Report, 42% of working South Africans acknowledge they gamble frequently hoping to make money that can cover some of their expenses/debt, markedly more prevalent among lower earners R8k to R15k (52%).
