In the May elections we pledged to tighten restrictions on HMOs. We have now delivered on this. From now on, all new HMO applications in Harrow will require planning permission, giving us greater scrutiny over the appropriateness of HMO conversions.

A recent report has shown that Harrow ranks in the top 15% of areas in England for children’s life chances and opportunities. We are ensuring that the council is doing all that it can to invest in and support our young peoples’ future.

In March, we reopened the council’s face to face contact centre. In the centre’s first 3 months of operation, it assisted over 6,000 residents with council issues/queries. In contrast, Labour closed the contact centre when they last ran the council.

For nearly 40 years, Sir David Amess devoted his life to public service. Five years ago, while doing his job, meeting the people he represented, he was murdered by an Islamist terrorist. I remember David as a committed colleague who cared deeply about his constituents. Today, my thoughts are with David’s family as we remember his life and service.

London is pricing out the people it relies on. If police officers, nurses and teachers can’t afford to live here, something has to change.

At the end of last year, we reopened the council's general enquiries phoneline. In the first 4 months of operation, the council handled over 31,000 calls. We are making the council easier to contact and more accessible to residents.

🚨 IN FULL AND UNCUT 🚨 🎉 My maiden speech at @harrow_council, laying into the Mayor of London's Draft London Plan. 🏘️ We need to build more houses, but outer London is not inner London. 🚂 The designation of "well-connected" stations is deeply inaccurate. @HAConservatives @HarrowWestCA @CityHallTories @Councillorsuzie

I share residents’ anger at the closure of the Post Office and TGJones (formerly known as WHSmith). Many digitally excluded residents rely on banks and post offices in a way that is difficult for everybody to understand. However, Gareth Thomas was a former Post Office Minister. He knows full well that a constituency petition will not reverse their decision, nor will it provide any pressure on them to open an additional branch in Harrow Town Centre. The Post Office is expected to close on Saturday 9 January 2027. However, the Post Office has said that a final closure date has yet to be confirmed. You can find the branch most convenient to you at postoffice.co.uk/branch-find….
TG Jones in St Anns Shopping Centre in Harrow Town Centre is set to close early next year, along with the Post Office branch located inside the store. Link in bio. #Harrow #News #HarrowOnline

Since introducing our HMO restrictions earlier this year, our policy is already making a difference. Higher standards and greater scrutiny have meant that Harrow's Conservative Council has blocked many inappropriate HMO applications. harrowconservatives.com/news…

As part of our £56 million investment in roads and paths, we are renewing at least 35 footpaths this year. We are making progress but know that many more paths need to be replaced. Our 4-year intensive renewal programme aims to bring out paths up to standard.

In the election you told me crime was your biggest issue in #Greenhill. We're working with the @MPSHarrow to see if we can rectify that.

We are cracking down on anti-social behaviour by installing 20 new cameras, in addition to our existing CCTV network, to help the council monitor problem areas and crime hotspots. We are working hard to keep Harrow clean and safe.

Since launching our free bulky waste collection service in January 2023, it has been used over 25,300 times. Harrow is one of the only London boroughs to offer a free bulky waste collection to each household every year, making it easier and cheaper to dispose of bulky waste.
