Everyone starts somewhere.
Starting with writing because something you loved sparks it often leads into people writing new things inspired by that thing they loved.
How many writers has Tolkien inspired? Or Lovecraft? Or just about any other writer that exists.
People often began with fanfiction ideas or concepts and they slowly evolved into their own things.
Currently, there are a lot of people extremely excited over this new concept, they're getting their feet wet in creation.
Eventually many will go on and make something new - maybe tangentially related, but new all the same.
The issue isn't that you "want to see our side make new things", it's that you're actively discouraging people at the starting point where they would begin developing the skills to DO exactly that.
Now, I don't think people should be trying to sell this stuff as their own - or as something new - but I do think it's entirely healthy and normal to use it as a starting point.
It appears I’ve angered the internet because I want to see our side make NEW things. Things we can actually own.
Things that are also culturally Western influenced as opposed to Japanese inspired.
How is a sex swapped character, from a copyrightten property, with a non American/western cultural influence helping us?
To me its just another example of the Right having no understanding of culture which is why we lost it in the first place 🤷♂️

There is no such thing as “climate-driven” or “climate-fueled” extreme weather. Any journalist who says this crap should be fired. Climate is a statistical description of the weather over a long period of time, not a fuel or physical force.
I didn’t know Nidal Hasan was a paraplegic when he murdered and injured all those soldiers at Fort Hood. Impressive. Evil, but also impressive.
