A THREAD ON PESHAWAR ‼️ (Based on my personal experience) When you see the controlled narrative that was peddled about Peshawar. It makes the city sound as if it’s in ruins and unsafe and that’s what my impression was too about the city! This changed completely when I visited Peshawar for a night last week for the first time in my life and found the city to be safe, clean and well governed in terms of infrastructure development and found the roads to be in great condition along with basic services being provided properly such as a very well accessible public transportation system. I visited the Cantt, the industrial area, the civilian localities and some historical spots such as the Qissa Khuwani Bazaar. If someone comes up and says that PTI hasn’t done anything in the last 13 years; their views are jaundiced by political bias and further alienates the people of KP who already feel alienated by not just the Federal govt but the private sector as well who see the province from a purely security lense despite the province being so vibrant! The city was in far far better shape in every aspect than Karachi yet we’re told that it’s in ruins while Karachi has been left at the mercy of those who continue to ruin it since decades now. Yes; there are issues across the province as well as differences but that’s the case everywhere. It doesn’t warrant what has transpired in KP in the last 24-36 hours. Please respect the people of KP. Respect their public mandate and don’t alienate them!
