Autumn term 2 is always a busy time in the year, but we loved how hard Year 8 worked on explaining the effects of Hurricane Milton today that we just had to share their ideas! Well done 8Q1 ๐

Reading for writing in geography. Today Year 8 read a challenging piece of text (12-14 reading age) and together we highlighted key vocabulary we didnโt know and learnt to summarise the text on the other. Brilliant understanding Year 8! ๐ #literacy
What a hard working bunch our Y11 #geographers are ๐ช๐ Tuesday night revision blast in full swing
โNever be afraid to try something newโ Y11 carried out a new formative assessment technique we wanted to try yesterday. Each group was given a different colour to annotate the landforms. Then we had to visit each of the different tables and improve each otherโs work โ
We are so excited to welcome Year 7 and 11 into school today. Years 8,9 and 10 see you tomorrow. Wishing lots of luck on everyoneโs first day of the 2025.26 school year!
Wishing all our students a happy, restful and safe summer holiday ๐ We will look forward to seeing Year 11 return for results day and the rest of school back on the 3rd of September! Well done on everything you have achieved this year Holy Family! ๐
The last two days of Interhouse have been an absolute pleasure. Two days of hard work, two days of new activities but most of all two days where our Holy Family spirit has shone through. A huge well done to everyone who helped to finish the HFC Eco garden! ๐ชป๐ผ๐ท
And thatโs a wrap! Geography fieldwork complete for another year ๐ช Well done everyone and thank you for always being amazing ๐
Arenโt we a lucky bunch, studying a subject where we get to spend so much time outdoors ๐ Orienteering up Rivington Pike today for our GCSE fieldwork. HFC were fabulous as always ๐ช
Today 8P1 loved trialling the ClassVR headsets to bring far away environments to life in the classroom ๐ Exciting things to come for the new 2025.26 curriculum!

Great to celebrate our DofE bronze award students this evening. They have done a tremendous job - 61 students achieving bronze award. Well done to all ๐ - thanks to parents, carers, staff and Rochdale Youth service for their support @RochdaleYouthie @DofE ๐๐
You guys are the reason we love our jobs. You never fail to do us proud Y10, thank you for being awesome ๐ช #geography #hfch
Fieldwork day two @blackpool 10Ge1b and 10Ge2 have been amazing! ๐
10Ge1a did brilliantly on their fieldwork @blackpool yesterday, well done everyone ๐
Year 10 loved having an A level Geology introduction today by @RochdaleSFC! We learned how crucial it is to have a variety of data, such as rock type & flood risk, when choosing the most suitable location for a nuclear waste facility. Thank you Dr Entwistle
We are right there with you Year 11, every step of the way. Sending all our good luck prayers today - go and smash Paper 2 ๐ช
