Feed Me threw a party at Bistrot Ha last night to celebrate season 2 of Expense Account! Jason (J Lee) started writing about restaurants and hospitality for Feed Me in 2024. Last year, while editing one of his columns, I read a line that he was “saving something for the pod.” I immediately called him and asked if he was starting a show — he wasn’t, but he said he was game. I wanted to make a podcast together. From there, we launched Expense Account, a weekly show about food, and people who have opinions about restaurants. We produced it in our office, and it took a lot of time and money (and wine and sweat and tears) but it was extremely rewarding to create something out of nothing, and expand Feed Me into new mediums. Now, I want to make more shows. (If you’re someone who is thinking about starting a show, or newsletter, or making a movie, just give it a shot. Actually go through the actions.) Earlier this year, the team at @HGMedia reached out to me and asked if Feed Me was looking for a production partner for Expense Account. We were! After a long summer of production meetings, a re-design by the brilliant @domesticetch, and dozens of calls with Higher Ground and @substack team, Expense Account Season 2 launched this week. Jason is so good at what he does and I can’t wait for you to see what’s coming this season. You can listen wherever you listen to podcasts. open.spotify.com/show/2vSveZ…
