MEPs call for an EU Action Plan on HIV For the sake of public health, human rights, equality, justice and fair and long term treatment for all, the EU must deliver on its commitment to ending the HIV epidemic by 2030. hivoutcomes.eu/news/meps-ca...

HIV has never been just about a virus; it is a test of political commitment. As #HLM2026AIDS approaches, the EU faces a defining moment: to reaffirm its leadership and ensure that the UN Political Declaration on HIV/AIDS translates into real progress on the ground. @UNAIDS
Today we face the most serious disruption to the HIV response in decades. Funding cuts, shrinking civic space and criminalisation of marginalized communities are converging into a perfect storm. Diseases spread fastest where human rights are weakest. This rollback is not accidental—it is political, organised, and it's costing lives. We know how to end AIDS. The question is: will we invest, or retreat? With a strong #HLM2026AIDS Political Declaration and full commitment to the Global AIDS Strategy, ending AIDS by 2030 remains within reach. If we fail, we risk reversing decades of progress. 👇🏾New @UNAIDS report 👇🏾 unaids.org/en/resources/pres…

The UK's #HIV response is failing women. In 2023, new cases increased the most in heterosexual women, but they are less likely to be offered or to take a test. Too many are diagnosed with HIV late, when it is more likely to have affected their health.

🚫 Cuts to global HIV programmes puts 20 years of life-saving progress in jeopardy. The path to ending #HIV is increasingly uncertain. This is a defining moment, and the time to act on HIV is now! @EU_Commission must show leadership and dedicate funding to make up for this gap.
