The Red Admiral stole the show last year with 248,077 recorded in the #BigButterflyCount!
An increase of 338% on the previous year’s Count and the first time the species, which is increasing in the UK as a result of climate change, has taken the top-spot. 🥇
Such a beautiful spot to view the water and a great example of lots of people and organisations pulling together to improve their local area. #partnership #norfolkbroads @NorfolkWT

Great to meet one of the many #volunteers helping to get young people out in nature and learning to sail at our Filby Broad in #Norfolk this volunteer week. nssa.co.uk Also spreading the message about #INNS @ESWH2O
Our partnership with @suffolkwildlife continues to deliver! I was lucky to catch the start of the #orchid flowering in the meadows at #LoundLakes @SWTLoundWarden and I spent time discussing how we will maintain these meadows in the long term. (Heath & Common spotted orchid)
Watched this last night. Wonderful to see our work with SWT being highlighted, and the volunteers were complete stars! Our land at Lound is such a hidden gem.
Great job by Andy our Lound Lakes Warden and our team of volunteers on tonight’s @BBCTwo Great Coastal Railway Journeys with @portilloandhen at @ESWH2O Lound Lakes Nature Reserve. @suffolkwildlife @WildlifeTrusts @HeritageFundUK @lowjournal @greateranglia @GYMercury
Life jacket on, and felt great to be spending time discussing the conservation work at Horning Marsh Farm, Norfolk. We partner with @BroadsNP . Couldn’t capture the great displays that booming bittern, cranes, Marsh Harrier, snipe etc put on for us. So here is a selfie instead!
Dodged the showers to see great #wetland restoration in Blyth valley #Suffolk Thanks to Union Farm for hosting. Great partnership project @nationalhighway @suffolkwildlife and @ESWH2O support the SWT River officer who managed the project. Can you spot our water tower?

This has made my day! I remember the toad migrations at our #loundlakes and then not being able to walk the lake edges because they were a writhing carpet of toadlets 🐸 I’m keeping everything crossed that this is the start of a recovery to that. @ESWH2O
A late finish brought a migration experience lost for over 15 years on the reserve. Over 30 toads helped to cross Hall Road, with some already attempting to increase numbers..

#naturenorth24 First time I’ve been treated to a concert at an environmental conference! Brilliant.
Well said Andy! Volunteers make such an amazing contribution.
Lound Lakes has 15 volunteers covering Wardening, Conservation and Surveying. Without them I would struggle, so thank you 👏🏻 . Most are photo shy, so my unsung heroes, but here’s a few sly snaps. @suffolkwildlife
#nationalvolunteerday @ESWH2O
Great day sharing knowledge on nature reserve mgmt and reconnecting with colleagues from across East Anglia at the ever stunning #AbbertonReservoir. Special welcome to our newest partner @TCVtweets. @ESWH2O @NorfolkWT @SWTLoundWarden @suffolkwildlife @EssexWildlife @thelandtrust
Delighted to find this #marshharrier at our Rollesby #Broad #Norfolk. Our very talented volunteer carved and donated it to the #TrinityBroadsPartnership The plinth was carved from an unsafe tree at our adjacent water treatment works @NorfolkWT @ESWH2O
Very lucky to see this lesser whitethroat up close! Thank you Roger Walsh and The Otter Trust for showing me Dickleburgh Moor with all its potential. #wetlands #partnership #birdringing

Everyone should come home safe after visiting our sites...
That's why we ask: please, for your own safety, follow the signs that say no entering the water ❌
Reservoirs are operational sites, there are hidden dangers beneath the surface, so please be safe
