This is rubbish. The blast furnace died because it was 65 years old and Sanjeev Gupta ripped millions out of Australia. And who let him in? Liberal PM Malcolm Turnbull and Industry Minister Arthur Sinodinos who hugged Gupta in Whyalla and called him a ‘Great Australian’.
Labor just sentenced 600 Whyalla workers to the scrapheap.
The blast furnace is dead. The $500 million green hydrogen fantasy the Premier bet his entire re-election on has collapsed, and ordinary South Australians are the ones paying for it in lost jobs and wasted taxes.
