It will be a Top 5 matchup in Memorial on Sunday, as No. 4 Kentucky takes on No. 3 Louisville in Lexington.
It’s not an excuse, but Kentucky totaled five games in 11 days with one being in Chicago and two more being a weekend trip to the Bahamas. Gotta think some of the wonky play this weekend may have been due to fatigue. Get a week of rest and come back recharged for Louisville.
Gaerte leads the way with 9 kills and five blocks and Carr adds eight kills with five blocks of her own. Not a clean or efficient weekend for the Cats, but they pick up the win and get a week off before Louisville comes to town next Sunday.
Nope!! Gaerte gets a kill on the next swing and then teams up with Lizzie Carr for a block and the Cats win the third 25-23 and take the match 3-0!
Kassie gets a service act to tie it at 23-23 and force a Houston timeout, but the broadcast has cut out again. Power outage again?

Kentucky takes the second 25-19 to take a 2-0 lead in the match. Offense hitting .289 on the day and holding Houston to just .018 hitting. Nice defensive effort
