Heated Rivalry France

During his appearance on @cbcgem’s The Assembly, Hudson Williams shared the message he hopes viewers take away from Heated Rivalry: no matter who you are, how different you feel or how much you struggle to fit in, everyone deserves their own beautiful love story. “I'd say, if there could be one message that sort of, like, permeates past the rest, it would just be, you deserve, like, the best romance story and the best love story in your own life, no matter who you are, you know, unless you're a really shitty person. Those people don't get our show, and they don't get anything. But no matter how sort of out of place or, um, how much of an ugly duckling you feel in your sort of community, no matter who you are or sort of how different you feel, I think you just, you deserve, you deserve love. Love is love.”

Hudson Williams talked about his friendship with Connor Storrie during his appearance on @cbcgem’s The Assembly. “Quickly, me and Connor realized we were, like, platonic soulmates, just completely in love with each other. I think that's what made our friendship so stable and beautiful, is that we realized we could be completely ourselves, be completely guard down. So I think the thing that made our relationship as rich as it was is, like, me and that man could cuddle for ten hours, and it just mean cuddling, just mean we just love each other dearly. but don't wanna beep each other's bop.”

During his appearance on @cbcgem’s The Assembly, Hudson Williams opened up about his experience with ADHD and how his Korean upbringing influenced the way he approached it. “Ignoring them, um saying they're fake, saying it doesn't exist, and you just have to be more disciplined? I feel like a lot of the answer and Asian cultures just more discipline, more discipline. And sometimes that can be good, but a lot of times it can look like, I think, denying a sensitive connection to yourself and a sort of, like, kindness to yourself. So, and with ADHD, it was like, no matter how hard I tried, I would remember, like, classes where I'm fully rested, I'm fully want to learn in this class, and I'm like, okay, I'm listening to his words, I'm listening to his words. What's that on the wall? What's that on the wall? Well, back on his words, we're listening to his words. What's that on his mouth? What's that on his mouth? We're listening to his words, and then I'm like, what's that sound? And then I'm like, wait, this is five minutes have went by, and I've maybe heard one thing, despite all my effort being just to listen. And I don't think me or my mother wanted to admit I had it, we didn't want to do medication, but, you know, I'm meeting with the doctor in, like, a week to kind of reexamine if I should get back on medication and try it again. But also, the Korean in me is like, don't fucking, like, just focus, just don't do it, just work harder. That's the sort of the wrestle there.”
