A new challenge I've been giving myself is low-step painting and figuring out how I can paint something with the least amount of steps involved.

Our feature artist/tutorial for today is this beautiful animation on EYE ANGLES, by the talented @simodasketch! Note in particular how the IRIS is shown here as a CONCAVE BOWL with the PUPIL set at the centre, and the CORNEA is a transparent dome over both. #anime #manga #drawing

Any time a painting feels scary or impossible, I have a hack I use to get through that feeling.
Paint it badly. As many times as possible & as quickly as possible.
By the 10th time, you start to realize nothing about the concept is scary enough that you can't at least try.
