We’re aware of the exploit affecting b14g, a restaking and yield protocol on Core and Babylon, and we’re working closely with their team. The Core network is secure. Core’s consensus, validators and staking contracts operated normally throughout, and CORE staked directly with validators or through other protocols is unaffected. We’re supporting b14g and exchange partners to trace and freeze the funds. Most of the stolen CORE remains on Core, and exchanges are freezing deposits linked to the attacker. We’ll share updates as we have them.
b14g Security Update At 09:29 UTC today, approximately 97M CORE staked through b14g was withdrawn without authorization and transferred to attacker-controlled addresses. Upon discovery, we immediately paused the affected contracts. We are working closely with the Core team, security partners and exchanges to investigate the incident, trace the funds and coordinate freezing and recovery efforts. Based on tracing so far, approximately 68M CORE remains on Core. Exchange partners have frozen approximately 9M CORE linked to the attacker. The affected assets are CORE staked through b14g. BTC staked through b14g remains time-locked on Bitcoin and was not affected. Our immediate priority is protecting users and recovering the affected funds. Attacker addresses: 0xc556ed208285406d71705927f92d4f4eaea579f1 0x27758c30f8e424fbd8ca605bf31e9496c26ce92c We will publish a detailed post-mortem covering the technical cause and impact, along with next steps for affected users. Further updates will follow as information is verified.

Core is entering its next phase of decentralization. Since the DAO began handing over its block-production role to independent validators, the network has run with zero downtime throughout the transition. Decentralization has guided Core since its first block. Each handoff of DAO initiatives to independent community operators builds on that foundation. Now, the community will continue taking on a greater share of stewardship across Core, from ecosystem building and growth initiatives to the decisions that shape its direction. As part of this transition, initial contributors like Rich Rines and Brendon Sedo are stepping out of their roles in the DAO. A network owned and led by its community is built to last. In the months ahead, more independent operators, more community-led projects, and more Coretoshi voices will shape where Core goes next. Thank you to every validator, builder, and Coretoshi continuing to carry Core forward. Bitcoin's full potential remains untapped. Core will keep pushing that frontier forward, in service of decentralization, self-sovereignty, and freedom.

The future looks bright, but will you survive the present? Like Bitcoin itself, $CORE has the potential to mature into a foundational asset if its Bitcoin DeFi vision translates into real adoption, sustainable demand, and lasting utility. But that future won't build itself. The competition is heating up. The ecosystem must execute and conviction will be tested long before the vision is fully realized. This journey was never going to be easy. Don't let every dip make you forget why you started. But don't let conviction stop you from thinking critically, either. Position yourself with knowledge, not just hope because believing in the future is one thing. Having the patience and discipline to navigate the present is another. The future may be bright. The real question is: will you be here to see it? #CORE #CoreDAO #BTCFi #Coretoshis

1/ Vitalik sent every L2 to zero in February and most of you scrolled past it. 8 months later Blast is closing, Polygon zkEVM is gone, and Abstract just gave 400k people until Dec 15 to get their money out. He told you. Which L2 in your wallet is next? You might want to read this first before buying another L2 token 🧵👇

Let’s stop pretending @Coredao_Org is just another BTCFi project. Core has built one of the largest communities and user bases in the #BTCFi space, and that reality is difficult to ignore. You might disagree. You might not like it. But look at where the users and conversations keep showing up. Even some people who spend their time following other BTCFi projects eventually find their way back to Core. Why? Because the community is here. While narratives come and go, people are still building block by block. That’s the part you can’t fake. #CoreDAO #BTCFi #Coretoshis #Bitcoin $CORE #Web3

It keeps hitting harder day by day. A must read.
1/ Unpopular opinion: #Core didn't kill your project. You packed up and left. Solana. Hyperliquid. Robinhood Chain. New chain, new logo, same farewell post blaming the old one. Same results every time. So be honest with me. If $CORE was the problem, why are you still begging for users? At what point do you stop blaming the ecosystem and start looking at the product? 🧵 👇

Core is taking another step towards decentralization. Since 2023, DAO-operated validators have helped keep blocks flowing as independent operators joined and strengthened the network. Together, these validators have supported years of uninterrupted block production. Over the coming months, the DAO will fulfill its long-term plan and begin the process of gradually handing over its remaining block-production role to independent validators, building on the work these operators already do to keep Core running. This transition marks a new chapter for Core, with independent operators powering the network. Thank you to every validator and Coretoshi who has helped move Core forward.

Stake CORE, secure Core, get paid in CORE. CORE holders delegate to validators. Their stake elects the validators that produce blocks. Every block pays out newly minted CORE. Rewards land daily. Delegations can be moved anytime. stake.coredao.org

#Coretoshis, there's something we all need to understand. If Core is going to become great, we all have a role to play. No contribution is too small. - A developer building. - A creator educating. - An ambassador onboarding. - A researcher asking difficult questions. - A community member sharing knowledge. - A supporter simply showing up consistently. Building Core isn't the responsibility of the Core Foundation or @Coredao_Org alone. It's a collective effort. The team can build the infrastructure, but a thriving ecosystem requires people to use it, improve it, educate others about it, and build around it. So let's stop waiting for someone else to do the work. Let's build this ecosystem together. 🔶 #CORE #CoreDAO #Coretoshis #BTCFi #Bitcoin $CORE

Every day, CORE and BTC holders stake to secure Core. Having multiple staked assets serves to decentralize consensus and harden the network.

@YahooFinance - Bitcoin is at $86,000 today, up from $76,000 a week ago. Eight-month high. The market is calling the end of winter. Fine. But the question that matters if you hold size is different: is it time for #BTCfi? Two players, two philosophies. CoreDao: your bitcoin never leaves your wallet. You time-lock it; it helps secure their proof-of-stake chain, and you get paid. Stake CORE next to it, and the rate goes up. For institutions, there's lstBTC: BitGo, Copper, or Hex Trust hold the coin; others run the strategy; yield comes back in BTC or CORE. Trade-off: the yield is mostly CORE block rewards, so you're carrying token exposure, hedged or not. Hemi: your bitcoin moves. Into an EVM that runs a full Bitcoin node inside it, so contracts read Bitcoin state directly, no wrapping, no oracle. Yield comes from what the coin does there: liquidity, lending, tunnels. Trade-off: the coin is inside the strategy, so you carry counterparty and smart contract risk for the duration. We've done both, at real scale. Core: BTCS S.A. runs a validator ranked #11 globally on Core and dual-stakes its own BTC and CORE. The Bitcoin remains time-locked in our custody. Profits so far exceed a million and a half euros, paid in CORE. That's not treasury yield; that's an operating business built on top of the treasury. It paid the bills. Hemi: 50 BTC into curated strategies for 6 months. Got 51.84 BTC back, paid in bitcoin, nothing sold. That grew the stack. Common denominator: put your BTC to work. A treasury that only holds is an ETF with overhead and a discount. A treasury that earns is a business. My rules: know what you're paid in. Bitcoin grows the stack, tokens pay the bills, and each needs its own risk limit. Position-sized so a total loss hurts but doesn't kill. And I want to know exactly who pays the yield: emissions or usage. So, time for BTCfi? For a slice of the treasury, with those rules, yes. Holding is an ETF. Earning is a business. @BTCS_SA @hemi_xyz @Coredao_Org

Three inputs secure Core: → Bitcoin miners delegate hash power from the blocks they already mine. → Bitcoin holders stake BTC without giving up custody. → CORE holders stake CORE.

Trustless. Self-custodied. Multiplied. Dual Staking Bitcoin and CORE earns higher rewards while contributing to the security of the Core network.
