So a single employee went on a vigilante run and *checks notes*
-Reached out to Peanut/Cloakzy, etc
-Offered him company money to play their game
- Got the check cleared for dollar amount
- Hung out in chat on the GAME TWITCH PROFILE
and the "studio had no idea"...?
This weekend, a Dead by Daylight team member awarded in-game content and currency to a creator streaming our game. Although it is not unusual to unlock content to give creators discovering DbD a chance to have a sneak peek at available content, this decision was made without receiving appropriate approvals. Furthermore, the team member's subsequent comments and conduct do not align with Dead by Daylight’s core values.
When concerns about this decision became apparent during the stream, we should have responded by looking into these concerns, not dismissing them.
Unfortunately, we’ve now seen the fallout of this decision unfolding in many conversations across the DbD community. We appreciate and stand with our community’s willingness to ensure our shared values are being upheld, at all times, regardless of popularity, and we’re heartbroken at the inflammatory language now being directed towards our community.
At the same time, threatening employees will never be acceptable, and we’re asking everyone to stop engaging with these posts.
We apologize to our community for letting you down. We have already begun reviewing our internal processes to prevent an incident like this from happening again.
and they had "no idea" how Peanut's "community is" and had "no idea" about the backlash this would cause on social media?
THE STUDIO HEADS had no idea the fabricated stigma and backlash of @theburntpeanut and theyre blaming a single employee?
Yeah, this studio doesnt care lmao
The Dead Internet Theory is so real when @theburntpeanut simply wakes up because good god this shit is insufferable 😂
Y'all have parasocial relationships with game studios and its insanity
NEWSFLASH. GAME DEVELOPERS ARE A BUSINESS. THEY NEED MONEY TO THRIVE.
BIG STREAMERS BRING THEM NEW EYES AND PROFITS.
THEY. DO. NOT. GIVE. A. SINGLE. INCLUSIVE. FUCK. ABOUT. YOUR. FEELINGS. WHEN. THEY. ARE. ABOUT. TO. MAKE. BANK.
There is so much I want to say, but at this point, I just feel like it doesn’t matter. Like, you present your values as a studio to be very inclusive when it suits you then turn around and placate to bigots. It’s just so… pathetic. @DeadbyDaylight
And it just feels demoralizing and pointless to say anything because being a decent human being online isn’t very popular right now and worst among us get all the favor.
It’s not so much the gift, but how eager you are to accommodate and make a living TOS violation feel welcome. Are you sure this is the kind of heat you want to shield? I mean, really? Embarrassing.
You have no art on your profile. Why the fuck would @Vengenz1 bother?
Seems lazy to say you're an artist but not show or promote it.
I very well can, but I don’t take demands. @Vengenz1 if you wanna pay me to make art for you, then that’s a different story. That being said, I’m not AI, so I’m lazy and greedy and expect payment for hard work and collaboration. So he’d probably refuse.
Vilify and exile the casual fans and you won't live past a 6 month update.
Seperate the casual queue from the "Sweat" queue and you'll live to make a sequel.
Gaming is a business.
Having to do longshot camo challenges with an SMG is a death sentence
It's hell because all these maps are shitty and small
Exfil choppers shouldn't be able to be shot down.
This is common sense @InfinityWard @CallofDuty
Extraction game fundamentals is the looting. How else do you get the money to
Upgrade your items
Pay for your operators to KEEP playing
Purchase guns, etc
Having one minimal PVP queue helps players get back in the fight and keep player retention.
@InfinityWard @CallofDuty
This is an @EliteNGHTMRE appreciation post
