“In the next few months, we shall have a combined outlook of the Uganda we want to see. We are studying a consociational democracy agreement,” Gen. Salim Saleh says while addressing heads of parliamentary committees in Kapeeka.
This is powerfully stated —-
“We are trying to make sure you people don’t inherit our generational quarrels — that’s what we are trying to achieve”
If they can do this — they would have bequeathed a better Uganda to the next generation.

"I don't want to confirm if there are talks or not, but in the next three or six months, there will be efforts to ensure the younger generation doesn't inherit our quarrels,"
- Salim Saleh was quoted as saying today over rumored talks centered around Dr Kizza Besigye’s freedom.
When read along with the document below, it appears that Uganda is shaping up for a nationwide dialogue as the country starts preparing for the eventual exit of President @KagutaMuseveni who has been at the helm for nearly half a century.
Dialogue and #SafeCorridors everywhere?

I asked my research students at Makerere University to conduct a mini study about any issue on campus. One group researched about ‘hunger among Makerere students’. I thought they were exaggerating it, but I have since come to learn that it is a serious problem among many students from humble backgrounds. What could be the solution/s?
No doubt an alternative payment system to the SWIFT is badly needed

🚨🇮🇱 BREAKING:
Israel's election has produced a HUNG KNESSET, and neither Netanyahu nor Eisenkot can govern alone.
With 100% of regular ballots counted, Netanyahu's bloc stands at 53 seats, while Eisenkot's opposition bloc has 48, both short of the 61 needed for a majority.
The Arab parties now hold a potentially decisive 19 seats: the Joint List with 12 and Ra'am with 7.
One major piece remains: roughly 600,000 double-envelope ballots still need to be counted, with final results expected tomorrow.
For now, neither Netanyahu nor Eisenkot has a majority, putting the Arab parties at the center of the battle to form Israel's next government.

In a semi-serious country, regardless of political affiliation, regardless as to whether you like Gen MK or loathe him, this picture would call for the immediate resignation of Justice Dr. Douglas Karekona Singiza.
This is lawlessness on steroids. No one should wanna live in a country where this is okay.
That’s not to say Judges should be apolitical.
They have as much a right to choose as all other citizens. But this is patently absurd.

It’s becoming even funny at this point. How you a law maker, doesn’t see a problem with a judicial officer, worse, a head of the JSC to not only endorse any candidate or political outfit, but also endorse a serving army officer for a political position! Bambi I am sure Singiza had wanted to do this secretly so that he secures himself another promotion but because you lot are either clueless or it’s sheer impunity, you thought this portrays PLU as strong and popular.
This morning at the Office of the National Chairman in Nakasero, I was honoured to receive Hon. Justice Dr. Singiza Douglas Karekona, Chairperson of Uganda’s Judicial Service Commission, on a courtesy call.
Justice Singiza warmly endorsed Gen. @mkainerugaba for President of Uganda. A powerful affirmation of the vision we share for a stronger, more just nation

Uganda is a republic not a monarchy, the president is elected by citizens, not anointed by birth; power belongs to the people not to the president who only exercises it on their behalf. So citizens have every right to make judgment of how they think/feel he is performing! – at Kampala, Uganda

Sophistication is the keyword.
