A guy cancelled Netflix last month. Said "there's nothing to watch."
He'd been a subscriber for 6 years. Paid $1,296 total. Scrolled for 30 minutes every night. Watched the same 40 titles the homepage showed him. Gave up and opened YouTube.
His brother a former Netflix content strategist called him and said 3 words:
"Resubscribe. Right now."
"Why?"
"Because you watched 0.5% of Netflix for 6 years and quit. Your homepage showed you 40 titles. Netflix has 8,000+. You never searched. You never changed your content rating. You never cleaned your history. You never typed a genre code. You never turned off autoplay. You never made a separate profile. You watched the factory version of Netflix for 6 years the version designed to keep you scrolling, not to help you find anything and you blamed the content."
"The content wasn't the problem. Your settings were."
He resubscribed. His brother changed 9 settings in 15 minutes.
"It feels like a completely different app."
"It is. You've been watching Netflix through a keyhole. I just opened the door."
Here's every setting he changed:🧵

A rare clash of apex micro-predators, where a lizard's lightning speed tests the unmatched reflexes of a praying mantis. 🦎🦗
• Lizards rely on explosive ambush tactics because a praying mantis possesses a strike velocity that can clock in at just 50 milliseconds. 🕰️
• In the undergrowth, a lizard must strike flawlessly, as large praying mantises are known to counter-hunt and consume small reptiles..
• This is a battle of specialized vision: the lizard’s sharp motion-tracking versus the mantis’s compound eyes capable of 3D binocular sight. 👓

Never a good sign when one of Bangkok’s international airports starts flooding. This was Don Mueang earlier today.

Drinking in #Pattaya during the wet season isn’t for the faint-hearted! 🐍🌧️
Snakes and God knows what else lurking in that water, flooded streets, and the risk of getting electrocuted.
Maybe staying where you are is the safest option! 🍻😂
