Year-to-date dividend tally from my single stock portfolio ( MTN Ghana ) $1,000 in dividends for 2026 has been achieved with the addition of Q2 interim dividend. We go again in December.

Active MoMo users fell by 1.223 million in Q1 2026, then increased by about 234,000 in Q2 and 619,000 in Q3. This implies a net decline of approximately 371,000 since year end 2025, despite the reported 6.9% YoY increase to 18.9 million.

Yeah. Also, the increase use of devices like home/business CCTV's with sim cards translates into more data usage. The demand for data is huge and MTN is struggling to meet fibre broadband demand even in Greater Accra.

$VOO is down 3.44% in a single trading session. There’s blood everywhere.
You know the US stock market is taking a huge beating when $VOO is down 1.5% in a single session.

At the core, smartphone growth in this country is already in the double digits before expansion in data usage comes into play. MTN GH will continue recording robust Data Revenue growth for a while.
"You've got the influx of smartphones, quarter-on-quarter that grew 13.3%. YoY, smartphones grew 16.6%. So, you've got more smartphones coming in, that's the device you need, and as you bring in more smartphones, you then layer services" MTN GH CEO (H1 2026 earnings call)

The IMF has assessed that Ghana’s economy is proving resilient, with policy buffers helping the country withstand external turbulence. In its first review under the non-financing Policy Coordination Instrument (PCI), the Fund indicates that programme performance is broadly satisfactory and that progress on structural reforms is encouraging. The IMF also supports the foreign exchange intermediation role being played by GoldBod. That’s how we like it here! Of course, downside risks remain. Ghana is still significantly exposed to commodity price volatility. We must therefore continue building our buffers and diversifying the economy to strengthen our resilience. We will also be watching to see what Ato’s New Economy has to say and, more importantly, how it draws lessons from previous failed attempts to ensure this one succeeds.

“Ghana’s economy is proving resilient & program performance has been satisfactory” I’m bullish on the Ghanaian economy.
IMF reaches a staff level agreement for Ghana’s first review under the Policy Coordination Instrument. The agreement is subject to approval by IMF Management & Exec. Board. Ghana’s economy is proving resilient & program performance has been satisfactory. imf.org/en/news/articles/202…

This is similar to how Chinese regulators scrapped Alibaba’s ANT financial IPO at the last minute. Never discount regulator risk in your investment analysis.
China made eleventh-hour inquiries into OPay, prompting the Nigeria-focused payments company to halt its $300 million initial public offering in New York hours after pricing it, according to people familiar with the matter. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

Airline margins are razor thin.
The Emirates Group has announced its results for the first six months of 2026-27. Emirates Airline reported a profit before tax of US$ 1.0 billion and revenue of US$ 15.5 billion.

There’s a huge sell wall at ¢6.85 for MTNGH. That’s over 80% of the sell volume. That could be the next resistance level.

Mobile Money Fintech Ltd has the highest revenue vs the two biggest banks in Ghana but records the lowest personnel expenses. Why? It’s because of its agent network. 👇
Starting a MoMo agent business in Ghana costs anywhere from GH¢3,350 to GH¢15,600. Why such a big gap? I broke down what's real and what decides where you land 🧵👇

EVER HEARD OF “10-IN-1” AND WONDERED WHAT IT MEANS? Imagine investing in gold, silver, oil, cocoa, and other commodities through just one investment. Sounds interesting, right? Well, IC Asset Managers has introduced the IC Core Commodities Fund PLC, a new investment opportunity that allows Ghanaians to gain exposure to global commodity markets without physically owning these commodities. So, how does it work? The fund invests through ETFs (Exchange-Traded Funds). Simply put, an ETF is an investment fund that trades on a stock exchange, just like shares of a company. It allows investors to gain exposure to a collection of assets or a particular market through a single investment. For example, a gold ETF can give you exposure to movements in gold prices without you physically buying or storing gold. Think of it as putting your money into one basket that gives you exposure to different commodity markets. Here’s what you should know: 📌 Initial share price: GH₵10 📌 Minimum investment: GH₵1,500 (150 shares) 📌 Offer period: November 3–23, 2026 📌 Fund manager: IC Asset Managers 📌 Regulated by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). But there’s something important to understand. Unlike Treasury bills, your returns are not fixed or guaranteed. The value of your investment can rise or fall depending on commodity prices and other market conditions. Here’s where it gets interesting! The world doesn’t run on stocks alone. Gold stores wealth. Oil powers economies. Copper connects industries. Cocoa feeds global markets. These are not just commodities. They are some of the resources that keep the global economy moving. That’s another dimension of investing worth understanding! Would you consider investing in commodities, or would you rather stick to stocks and Treasury bills?

Exactly. No branch rent, no tellers, and every new customer only needs a SIM card. The real limit is agent float, not headcount.
