He’s right.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella wrote that a company renting an AI model “essentially pays for intelligence twice”:
Once in money, and again in the proprietary knowledge it has to reveal to make the model useful.
This mechanism is called the learning loop: every prompt and correction captures some of the company's know-how.
That knowledge is distilled and, with a closed model, the provider keeps that information.
If your usage data is worth more than the token cost to serve, providers might end up paying you to use their models. The precedent exists: OpenAI created an opt-in program that gives accounts up to 1M free tokens a day on certain models in exchange for training rights on that traffic.
Chips can be rented and algorithms can be leaked or distilled, but the prompts and corrections flowing through a model compound privately for whoever holds them.

Purely anecdotal but market seems to have zero tolerance for companies missing their earnings whatever the reason might be. You miss earnings -> stock goes down 30-50%. Maybe (just maybe) this has gone too far ?

🚨$NBIS to deploy modular datacenters with $PLTR through Armada
Armada's Leviathan is designed to scale horizontally.
1 unit delivers 1.77 MW of IT capacity. Multi-unit deploys target 5-20MW and scale to 50MW+.
Operational within 12 weeks.

BREAKING: Palantir is taking sovereign AI off-grid.
Armada has secured a deal to become @PalantirTech inaugural Certified Modular Data Center Partner, enabling its AI stack to run on-grid, off-grid, and fully air-gapped.
@armada_ai has already deployed its modular data centers on a U.S. Navy warship, for offshore drilling operations, and across remote operations in Alaska.

One of the hardest conversations I have as a founder is telling a patient or family that our trials are too far away to be an option today. I’m grateful to hear from families facing GBM and pediatric brain tumors. They’re searching for any viable option.
Clinical trials still move like it’s 1995.
A decade of waiting, $1–2 billion spent, and a 90%+ failure rate on a clunky, fragmented system.
ARPA-H’s SURPASS program is rethinking the entire clinical trial model.
Adaptive platforms, predictive models, real-time analysis, and AI will make trials faster and cheaper so treatments reach patients years earlier.

IMO the well-intentioned desire to shield patients from healthcare costs has ended up backfiring
1) The system has oriented around becoming as $ extractive of the entity that's paying as possible
2) It is nearly impossible as a patient to figure out what anything costs because we're not the actual end payer, which then removes the ability to negotiate or any need to say no for tests/procedure etc.
3) Healthcare costs go up in way more indirect ways that are out of patient's control (eg. premiums going up)
Feel like the only way we get out of this mess is either going WAY more in the direction of exposing patients to cost or much stricter cost controls on the govt side
But we can't have a system that both shields patients from costs but also gives them no ability to negotiate

Your ego is costing you strokes.
According to Arccos Golf, the average 20-handicap believes they hit their 5-iron 187 yards.
The reality: 152 yards.
That’s a 35-yard gap between their expectation and their reality…
Even scratch golfers overestimate their 5-iron by 18 yards.
You cannot step up to the ball with your best shots in mind. You need to consider your average shot.
Can you hit your 5-iron 190? Yes you can. But only two out of every ten tries…

an agent can write code in seconds. But installing dependencies, running tests and waiting for results can take MUCH longer
When you’re training agents, all that waiting is important. Faster text generation only speeds up one part of the process.
My colleagues Di and @Mhr1036 at @nebiusai worked on the rest: how tasks get routed, how tools run, and how completed work becomes a batch the model can learn from.
One idea I love: use groups of completed attempts as they become ready, so unrelated slow tasks don’t hold everything up
Across the changes, they reduced the time to collect a training batch from roughly 10 minutes to just over 3 in a controlled Terminal Bench based test, with model weights held fixed.
That’s 66.9% less time gathering the next batch
For me, this is an interesting part of building better AI: the engineering around the model determines how much of its speed becomes useful progress.
Full breakdown below
Training AI agents takes more than fast token generation.
Tools run. Tests stall. Training batches wait.
We cut fixed-weight batch collection time by 66.9% on a Terminal-Bench-based workload by improving routing, sandbox execution and scheduling.

I learn something every time @healthapiguy gives a talk - at healthcare 101 yesterday there were a few things that really made me think
1) Can AI doctors access data through the health information exchanges? what counts as an AI doctor?
2) Healthcare actually has it better than a lot of other industries because we have regulations that force data out. For example CCD-A exports, or EHRs allowing robotic process automation if an API doesn't exist.
In other industries those rules may not exist which allow systems of record to box out third-party applications
3) The sheer number of places data is sent between stakeholders is just enormous, I mean look at this chart of just a small subset of networks that already exist. There's so much work to do

$ORCL is up over 7% after OpenAI said enterprise is now its fastest growing business with B2B revenue up more than 100% since July.
Thats huge because recurring enterprise inference makes it more likely OpenAI can grow into the massive infrastructure commitments already sitting inside Oracle’s backlog.

The best example use case of $BE is the $NBIS data center in New Jersey.
The plan was to run it on gas turbines. Locals had something to say about that idea, and the whole project started to fall apart.
So Nebius pulled the turbines and dropped in Bloom fuel cells instead. Because Bloom doesn't burn anything, many government regulations simply don't apply, and the timeline barely moved.
That swap effectively saved the project billions in lost revenues.

The AI pause may not really be about slowing AI down.
It could be about protecting the companies already leading the race.
As open-weight models become more competitive, regulation could become a moat: higher compliance costs, more liability protection, and fewer hurdles for companies with the resources to absorb them.
It’s the “Marlboro strategy” — use regulation to make the playing field harder for everyone else.
So is the AI pause really about safety, or about keeping competition at bay?
@davemcclure and @AmanVerjee break down the potential strategy behind the AI regulation push.
