“all I can say is that any woman who abandons her friends when a new guy comes along is no friend at all. The fallout for Haley won’t just be in Dem politics; she will be a pariah among her friends in the Democratic caucus in Congress.” Read every word of his scorcher from former Rep and former Stevens friend and colleague @wildforcongress
I know @HaleyforMI way better than most people on X. She and I came into Congress together in 2018. She was co-Prez of our freshman class. She was incredibly kind to me when my late partner died; she organized a big group of our class to come to the House floor to support me when I spoke about his suicide. We were roommates in 2023, after my wonderful first roomie lost her election; both my adult kids know Haley well and are on a texting basis with her. We’ve socialized and we have good friends in common. While she and I differ on one impt issue, specifically Israel and AIPAC support, I’ve never publicly challenged her on those things, because I felt that her good points outweighed the issues I disagreed with her on. Today, that changes. 👇 Haley’s endorsement of Rogers in the MI senate race is appalling. Not because he’s a Republican, but because what he stands for is what she, and I, and our caucus has fought so hard against. Rogers is a 100% anti-choice politician. He is a Trump loyalist. He’s shown his Islamophobia in his many remarks against @AbdulElSayed, and with this endorsement, Haley has shown that she agrees with his positions. I’m shocked by Haley’s endorsement. I’m terribly sad and disappointed. I’m furious and will be more so if we lose the MI senate race. So many people in the Democratic Party have shown so much support to Haley over the years, and she has betrayed them all. If this is because of her new relationship (about which many of us were so happy for her after she lost the primary), all I can say is that any woman who abandons her friends when a new guy comes along is no friend at all. The fallout for Haley won’t just be in Dem politics; she will be a pariah among her friends in the Democratic caucus in Congress. Only she will be able to decide whether it was worth it.

There are people who put a lot of effort into their home for Halloween and there is this guy.
Halloween Costume of the Night This dog wins Halloween costume of the night. Nothing can beat this. He doesn't look too happy about it, but I hope he gets a nice bone and plenty of treats when it's all over. What's the best pet costume you've seen tonight?

Please read this so I don’t have to look at any more bad vacation photos. At least get the horizon straight. Thank you. ☺️
A wedding photographer who shoots half his work on an iPhone told me the biggest difference between amateur iPhone photos and professional-looking ones isn’t the camera. It’s the three seconds before you press the shutter. He’s shot entire engagement sessions, product catalogs, and travel films on an iPhone. He’s seen people with a $1,300 iPhone take photos worse than someone with a $200 phone — and people with an older iPhone take photos that look like magazine covers. He doesn’t sell presets. He doesn’t work for Apple. He doesn’t care which phone you use. He shoots every day, edits hundreds of photos a week, and sees the same mistakes over and over. His average fix: light, distance, and one tap on the screen. He told me something most iPhone users have never considered: “Your iPhone camera is not taking bad photos. You are giving it bad conditions. Bad light, dirty lens, digital zoom, no focus point, no exposure control — then blaming the phone when the photo looks flat.” He said the entire “my iPhone camera is not good enough” problem is built on habits, not hardware. “There’s no secret setting. There’s no filter that fixes everything. There’s no need to buy the newest iPhone to take better photos. You need to control what the camera sees before you press the button.” He showed me 9 things most people get wrong about iPhone photography — and the exact routine he uses before every important shot. Here’s the full playbook: 🧵👇

Being black in America was this man’s “crime.” There’s more info in the comments and it seems the officer was fired, but this should have never happened. I hope this man is ok and is compensated well for this racist brutality.
Police shoot Black man having a seizure with taser—7 times. He was putting up Halloween decorations outside his own home. EMS was treating him after he collapsed in his yard. "All of a sudden a cop shows up, shoves everyone out the way, and jumps on top of him," brother said. The officer has only been identified as Sgt. Price with the Chattahoochee Police Department. He claims he was just trying to assist EMS with a "combative individual" and encountered "physical resistance." Dwight Jackson is the man attacked by the cop. He says was not intentionally combative—was defenseless and only experiencing a medical emergency. Dwight Jackson described the experience as being "more terrifying than being in the war." Incident occurred outside his house on Chattahoochee Street in Chattahoochee, Florida.

In New Mexico I stopped for gas at eleven at night and found a man in boots staring into a glass box of fried burritos like a general studying a map. The station was called Allsup's. For sixty miles there had been only dark desert, two-lane asphalt, and the occasional cow. Then, under fluorescent light, stood a pyramid of golden chimichangas and beef and bean burritos stacked inside white paper sleeves. The man beside me did not look at me. He pointed at the glass and said, "Get the beef and bean. And the Hatch green chile. Do not eat it until you pass the second traffic light or you will burn the roof off your mouth." I obeyed him. The cashier handed me two paper sleeves that were already turning translucent from the grease. In my country, chefs train ten years to achieve the correct tempura crust. Allsup's achieves it at a highway intersection next to a rack of motor oil. I waited until the second traffic light. I took one bite over the steering wheel. I understand now why the cowboys do not complain about the long drive between towns. They are not driving between towns. They are driving between Allsup's.

Narcissists usually respond in two ways: rage or absence. Sometimes it's loud… sometimes it's silent. But either way, it's destructive. Whenever life's demands surface and they're forced to face reality outside of their carefully crafted delusions, a narcissist will react in one of two extremes: either they explode with anger, or they withdraw completely and shut you out with the infamous silent treatment. It's never about working through issues, never about accountability, never about resolving conflict in a healthy, mature way. No… communication with a narcissist doesn't end with clarity or solutions. It ends with you feeling confused, blamed, and exhausted. Because to them, the problem is never their actions, never their words, never their behavior....it's always you and your reaction. If you cry, you're “too sensitive.” If you get angry, you're “crazy.” If you call them out, you're “starting drama.” If you pull away to protect your peace, you're “cold” and “heartless.” No matter what you do, they twist it. No matter how valid your feelings are, they invalidate them. No matter how much you try to explain, they refuse to understand. Because understanding you would require them to admit that maybe they're wrong. And a narcissist's ego simply can't allow that. When a narcissist is backed into a corner...when the mask slips, when their lies unravel, when their manipulation stops working...they default to rage or absence. That rage can be verbal, emotional, even physical. It's an explosion meant to intimidate, to distract, to shift blame, to regain control. That absence, the silent treatment, is just another form of manipulation. It's designed to punish you, to make you chase them, to make you question yourself, to make you feel like you’re the one who needs to apologize. Both reactions serve the same purpose: to avoid accountability and maintain control. Because to a narcissist, the goal isn't resolution....it's dominance. The goal isn't understanding....it's winning. And they will gaslight, guilt-trip, stonewall, and lash out until they feel like they've regained the upper hand. You'll find yourself explaining the same hurt over and over again, only to be dismissed, minimized, or mocked. You'll find yourself apologizing for your reactions to the very things they did to hurt you. You'll find yourself questioning whether you're asking for too much, whether you"re being unreasonable, whether you're the problem. But hear me: you are not the problem. Your reactions are normal responses to abnormal behavior. Your emotions are valid. Your boundaries are justified. The problem is that a narcissist will never take responsibility for their role in the dysfunction… because doing so would mean admitting they're flawed, and their ego won't allow it. This is why conversations with a narcissist feel like going in circles. Why arguments feel like a game you can't win. Why apologies from them feel hollow, temporary, performative. Because in their mind, they're never wrong. You're just too sensitive, too needy, too difficult, too emotional. And that's the trap....they make you believe that if you were “better,” if you were “calmer,” if you were “more patient,” things would improve. But the truth is, you could bend over backwards and it still wouldn't be enough. Because the goalpost will always move. The rules will always change. The narrative will always shift to make you the villain and them the victim. Rage or absence. Explosion or silence. Either way, it's emotional abuse dressed up as conflict resolution. Either way, it leaves you drained, confused, and doubting yourself. The only real solution? Distance. Healing. Detachment. Choosing yourself. Because you'll never get accountability, empathy, or genuine change from someone committed to protecting their ego at all costs. And the longer you stay in the cycle, the harder it becomes to see just how much of yourself you're sacrificing just to keep the peace. Remember: communication with a narcissist isn't about resolving problems… it's about surviving their reactions. And you deserve so much more than survival. You deserve peace. You deserve safety. You deserve love that doesn't make you question your worth. ✨🙌🏾💫
