Here’s why DIA matters. China, Russia, Iran and North Korea aren’t operating in separate boxes anymore. They’re learning from one another and sharing ways to challenge U.S. forces. Intelligence has to connect those dots faster than our adversaries can move. #DIA #Geopolitics #NationalSecurity

Greetings, programs! Oh, what an occasion we have here before us. Because your rumors are true.
The website is indeed closing down.
When started 8ish years ago, it was one of a very few. Now, there are many many ACARS sites.
Time to close the dumpster!

Ukrainian company SkyFall has officially presented its Thor Hammer heavy strike UAV.
The aircraft has a stated range of up to 600 km (373 miles), a wingspan of 3.5 m (11.5 ft), a length of 3 m (9.8 ft) and a maximum speed of 180 km/h (112 mph). According to SkyFall, it can carry a 40–50 kg (88–110 lb) warhead and can be launched from a catapult or with a launch booster.
Thor Hammer reportedly uses AI and computer vision for terminal guidance and can be remotely operated from anywhere in the world. The system can also be equipped with Starlink or other secure communications systems, depending on the mission.
Its navigation system combines satellite, inertial and backup positioning. According to SkyFall, AI-based trajectory correction can continue even if the communications link is lost.
The reported cost is $25,000–30,000 per system, depending on configuration. SkyFall says the UAV has been codified by Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense and that production is planned to reach 5,000 units per month by the end of the year. The company is also developing a version with a reported range exceeding 1,000 km (621 miles).

🇺🇦 Some highlights from a recent Telegraph article on the Ukrainian operations on the Oleksandrivka front.
- The shaping operation enabling the armored maneuver elements of the operation took up to 8 months.
- Ukraine hacked the smartphones of Russian troops and used their social media (used in lieu of a proper BMS) messages to correct fires.
- Systemic targeting of UAS positions forced Russian UAS and C-UAS crews to fall back to safer positions further from the front.
- The mid-strike campaign focused on hitting logistical targets depleted frontline supplies in the area (seeing the same play out north of Lyman).
- Ukrainian infiltration teams went in first, avoiding Russian positions that were too fortified to take. Later recon units were tasked with clearing those positions.
- Ukrainian soldiers would cross rivers like the Vovcha by swimming across them and having fresh clothing and equipment delivered to them by drone afterwards.
- Once the ground had been cleared by the infantry, tanks rolled in to provide direct fire support against waves of Russian counterattacks.

I absolute hate backdated revisions, but this time I think they are well justified. My new approach of mapping STS donors to loadings helps understand when did the ship likely transit. Which bumped last week's exits from 7.8 to 9.1 mbd, FYI

Replying to @LVision_Trading
After detailed identification based on S2 pass, 3 transits were mapped to loadings and are now logged as outbounds assuming exit happened within 3-4 days after the loading event.
STS based transits are already updated throughout the dashboard.

The Chonhar road bridge has been destroyed.
The Chonhar road bridge is one of the key land crossings between Kherson Oblast and Crimea.
Satellite imagery has revealed the aftermath of new attacks in Crimea. As of September 26, at least three large breaches were visible in the roadway of the bridge and the nearby crossing. This significantly disrupted traffic and caused a buildup of logistics vehicles, including military transport.
By September 30, satellite imagery showed that one of the bridge spans had already collapsed.
Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to systematically disrupt Russian logistics in the south — the “logistics lockdown” continues.

This has been the case for a little while now. There will be more changes coming this week from the previous legislation as the DIA, including likely expansions of scope and authorities. We will seeee
"Canada plans to turn its new agency for speeding up purchases of military gear into a Crown corporation, three sources say – a transformation that will empower the organization and chief executive Doug Guzman with far more authority in terms of decision-making.
Prime Minister Mark Carney’s government created the Defence Investment Agency to streamline the procurement of military purchases worth $100-million or more. Last year, Ottawa committed to the biggest ramp-up of defence spending in more than 70 years in an effort to bolster self-reliance and meet rising targets agreed to by members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization."

Russia sent its response to the Turkish Black Sea expanded "grain iniative" proposal:
Today, two Russian drones struck a Turkish-owned civilian vessel carrying corn in neutral waters of the Black Sea. The captain was killed, one crew member was injured, and another remains missing. Eleven crew members were rescued. Azerbaijani and Indian nationals were among the crew.
Freedom of navigation cannot depend on whether Moscow decides to respect it on any given day. Nor can global food security depend on whether civilian vessels make it through the Black Sea without being attacked by Russian drones.
“Corn” may sound like just another cargo. But for vulnerable families in countries across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East that depend on Ukrainian food imports, blocking such vessels may lead to catastrophic consequences including acute food insecurity, malnutrition, or even hunger.
This Russian attack on a Turkish-owned vessel is particularly cynical given that Türkiye has invested significant diplomatic effort in de-escalation, peace efforts, and Black Sea security.
Ukraine has repeatedly proposed concrete steps to make navigation safer. Russia has responded by widening the geography of its attacks. This pattern will continue until the cost of escalation becomes higher than the benefit Moscow expects from it.
That means stronger pressure on Russia, greater protection for civilian shipping and maritime routes, and accountability for attacks on vessels and crews. Every maritime nation has an interest in drawing that line now — before Russia moves it again.
