Loot Box Gaming stands with gamers, not @Sony / @PlayStation. When Sony wants to come back to the table with reason, they’ll have our support. Until then however, we will not be supporting PlayStation beyond the PS5’s life cycle. #PSBlackout #NoDiscNoBuy #NotBuyingPS6 #SavePhysicalMedia #PhysicalForever

Physical media is more than just a disc in a box @Sony @PlayStation • It’s a symbol of actually owning the games that people purchase, often purchased with funds that consumers put in hard work to earn. • It’s a way of allowing the consumer to have control over the way their game catalog is curated, preserving it into a physical form. No strings can be pulled on the games you own physically, no DRM to hold your games down (assuming the publishers produce proper physical releases). • It’s a way of sharing the way you play with your friends & family. Almost every gamer who has played on a console, has a memory of sharing a physical game with their loved ones. We know we do! • It’s a way of being able to sell your games and make your money back, to “reinvest” into new releases. Simultaneously, passing games onto the next gamer who can enjoy them. This will never be allowed on the digital PlayStation marketplace. • The most important thing for many nerds like ourselves, is that it’s about having a physical collection to keep on our shelves. From the cover arts, to the bonus pack-ins like manuals & posters, to the design on the discs themselves. There’s always a level of personal craftsmanship put in, that you would never get to see from a digital only game. Physical media won’t stop with Sony, so what makes them think it’s a good idea to jump ship now? We’re currently seeing the strongest support for physical media that we’ve seen since the COVID retro boom.
