Tonight, I make a solemn promise to every single Texan. Whether you voted for me or Governor Abbott, or felt so betrayed by a broken politics that you did not vote at all.
Hear what Texas said today, loud and clear: Your government belongs to you. And as your governor, I will never forget it. There will be no special set of rules for the wealthy and powerful. No looking the other way when someone in my own party does wrong.
The trust you have placed in me tonight is not a blank check. It is a sacred responsibility. And I intend to earn it every single day.

This hit me harder than I thought it would. It's incredible to see a gay man elected to the U.S. Senate, standing proudly next to his husband.
I'm not crying...YOU'RE CRYING!

(Oh, how beautifully glorious and relevant it feels to remember I had this favorite Star Wars clip tonight.)

32 years ago, Texas lost its last great governor. Tonight, a three-decade-long wrong has finally been righted.

The weird thing is that winning a seat in Montana by a D-leaning independent was well within grasp. But the Dem nominee refused to withdraw despite there being no way she could even come in second place. And so that pick up didn't happen.

Everyone has the right to run. But then they have to take responsibility for the consequences of running. #Montana #Croydon

Biggest miss for Dems tonight was Montana. We all saw it coming: A legit pickup opportunity in a 1-on-1 but impossible for Bodnar to win with Bankhead also on the ballot

It can't be under estimated the damage @TyPinkins has caused the state of MS.
