Despite finishing work after 0100 this morning, and this being my single rest day before a week of early shifts, the rostering fairy has worked in my favour for once. 0734 start moved 3hrs later to allow a Dover colleague to get leave, and still finish by 4pm

I'm covering a Dover depot job today, starting off at Ashford International on one of the few class 2 trains we work - 2R06. Taking a 12 car class 395 into stations with 4, 6 and 8 car platforms - time to breath in.

My sleeper home tonight starts wholly from Edinburgh (rather than also a portion from Glasgow), so I've had to make my way across the central belt to get to my hotel on wheels. 92018 is at the front, 16 coaches further on. Trust me it's there. I've checked! – at Edinburgh, Scotland
