Today, I turn 46, but honestly, I never thought I’d make it to 25, considering the lifestyle I was living. My life felt like a never-ending cycle of destruction. Every day, I would wake up only to repeat the same destructive patterns of taking excessive amounts of Vicodin and Oxys, sometimes going through a bottle of 120 pills in just a few days, using heroin, meth, benzos, and fentanyl, and drinking more than a 12-pack of beer daily, along with a bottle of hard liquor every few days. I was trapped in a vicious cycle of addiction, living a life I honestly never thought I’d survive. BUT GOD! By His grace, mercy, and love, here I am today celebrating my birthday with over 8.5 years clean from all drugs and over 7.5 years free from alcohol and cigarettes! If you had told me years ago that I’d be living a life of sobriety, purpose, and service to God, I probably wouldn’t have believed you. But God had a different plan for my life, and for that, I will forever be grateful. 🙌❤️

Went to a friend’s baptism today, praise the Lord!🙌 The church, however, was like so many others. Greeter’s that didn’t say hello or even look at us as they conversed amongst themselves. A drive-thru coffee shop attached. Once inside, again, nobody smiled or said hello or welcome. The music was extremely loud and didn’t once reference Jesus. And the “pastor” was more like a host/announcer, and he didn’t preach a sermon, it was live-streamed from the larger main church. I’m always excited for someone to be growing in Christ, so I was happy to go to the baptism. But that is not fellowship. That is not what the apostles had in mind when they planted the original churches. No thank you. It’s a pass for me. Been there, done that.
