🧵 In 2016 I rented a studio flat in Chiswick for £750 pcm. I was earning £37,000 as a Legal PA. The rent was 24% of my gross salary. Today the rent wd be £1,800 pcm and even with a salary of £70,000 the rent would be 31% of the salary of a young city lawyer (for example).../2

My best guess is the 5 Green MPs might be taking advantage of the rest of recess to decide whether to declare independence from The Green Party. They don't want to spend the next 2+ years defending this shit. And everywhere they go they will rightly be questioned about it.

The reaction to death of Archer, who was out and about as recently as the weekend, tells us something powerful about how modern Britain thinks death is something that will be foreshadowed and lingered up to. You can be here one hour and gone the next. That’s why it’s all precious

It’s been 10 years since Ronnie O’Sullivan produced this AMAZING clearance you will ever see.🔥 With no position on the reds, Mark Selby plays a safety shot while leading 70-0 in the frame. The rest is history…

The only person ever to walk out on me during a live interview. I think of him as a charming (and sometimes not very charming) liar in the tradition of Maundy Gregory. And he seems to have died a pretty enviable death. Unlike Monica Coghlan, killed in a car crash aged 50.
As well as being a politician and highly successful novelist, don't forget Jeffrey Archer was a pretty nasty fraudster - like his father. In short, he was a crook. Many broadcasters - some who never dared ask him any tough questions - will gloss over that today.

I'm going to London in 3 weeks time. I'm thinking of calling in at Harrods and complaining to the manager about how expensive everything is in their store and telling them Lidl is a lot cheaper.

Wow, Jeffrey Archer has passed away. Clearly a checkered life, but I still remember reading and being absolutely gripped by Kane & Able as a tween, and read many of his other books in my teens. He certainly could write a page turner!

So sad to learn of the passing of Jeffrey Archer on the 10 pm news. But grateful that I saw this short interview last week. Archer was talking about how he was good friends with John Smith and was actually at John's bedside when he passed away. Godspeed, Jeffrey.
On BBC lunchtime news today Jon Kay interviewed Jeffrey Archer. Archer talked about how how he was friends with John Smith (former Labour leader) and thought Smith would make an excellent Prime Minister and how politics was less tribal back then. It's a fabulous interview. .../2

Friends, the neighbour decided to adopt Mila. everyone at home was terribly disappointed, especially Mum. However it seems that Mila is very happy at our neighbour’s house and has become great friends with her cats. And after all, that is the most important thing. #cats
