Julius Randle has returned to MSG as an opponent before, but the building still holds a special place in his heart. Even now that he's playing across the river in Brooklyn.
“Amazing, man. A lot of love for the city, for the fans. I have a lot of great memories here with the team, with my family.”
Jordi Fernández likes what he's seeing from Mikel Brown Jr., but there's a learning curve for a 20-year-old rookie tasked with running an NBA offense.
“You have to make sure that you tell a 30-year-old where to be and a 28-year-old where to be.”
The Nets played well enough to beat the Knicks for most of Monday night, but everything unraveled down the stretch. Jordi Fernández summed up the frustration:
“We played great for, math is correct, 39 minutes. And then the last nine, were not good enough.”
The Nets threatened to snap a 14-game losing streak against the Knicks, but Josh Hart sparked a decisive fourth-quarter turnaround as New York pulled away for a 103-90 victory at Madison Square Garden.

Starters tonight at MSG:
Nolan Traoré
Michael Porter Jr.
Chaney Johnson
Julius Randle
Day'Ron Sharpe
Nolan Traoré is averaging 10.5 points and 2.7 assists through six games and is coming off a 16-point, six-assist performance against Indiana last night.
Jordi Fernández likes the growth he's seeing from the second-year guard.
“The best coach in the world is playing real games.”
Jordi Fernández wants Mikel Brown Jr. to keep firing away. There's still plenty for the rookie to learn, but his coach has no doubts about his talent.
“Every shot he takes, I feel it's going in. So, I want him to be aggressive.”
Jordi Fernández on Nets-Knicks: “If you're a competitor, you should be extremely excited to play this game.”
Fernández acknowledged the matchup carries extra motivation for Brooklyn: “We all want to win this game. I think that's the simplest way for me to say it.”
Egor Dëmin remains out with a right leg bone bruise for tonight’s game against the Knicks at MSG.
Joshua Jefferson and Ben Saraf are also out on G League assignments, while Tyler Bilodeau and Grant Nelson remain with Long Island on two-way assignments.

Julius Randle already had his Garden reunion with the Timberwolves. This time is different. His son is back at his old school, his family is surrounded by familiar faces, and a new team is counting on him in Brooklyn.

Same building. Same breakthrough.
For the second straight season, the Nets earned their first win at Indiana, riding Nolan Traoré's second-half surge, clutch 3s from Julius Randle and a big night from their centers to beat the depleted Pacers 98–90.
Brooklyn is finally in the win column.

Nets fans keep being asked to believe in the future.
Sean Marks and Joe Tsai owe them a reason to.
At some point, rebuilding has to look like building something.

Mo Wagner: "You have to move on. We always talk about next-play speed, and that's not our strength right now."
"I know the group can do better because I've seen it."
The Nets looked like they'd finally turned a corner... for a quarter. Then the familiar collapse hit.
Brooklyn blew an early 10-point lead as Detroit's defense exposed every lingering offensive flaw in a 110-94 NBA Cup loss.

“I need Mo to keep them alive.”
The young Nets talk plenty on the bus. Jordi Fernández wants to hear them on defense, and he’s counting on Moritz Wagner to get the conversation going.
