OMG this *whole thread* I've been screaming about this for years. It's maddening, and besides everything rightly listed here the message to viewers is that people whose LITERAL JOB it is watch don't think what's happening on the field is worth their attention. @NWSL
.@NWSL I'm begging you to bring back actual play by play in the broadcasts. Basically every commentator has abandoned it. This will not grow the game. New viewers need play by play to help them understand and get to know different players.
