🎙️ Charles Lee: "Unfortunately, Naz (Reid) didn't meet our standards in the first half, and at halftime we made the decision that he wouldn't play in the second half. But I look forward to him meeting those standards come next game."

🎙️ @stevejones20 on Brandon Miller: "Probably your most improved player. Bookmark that." 🎙️ @KevinOConnor: "This is a guy who looks like he's grown a lot. He's fluid, he's quick, he's confident, he's decisive, and he's reading what the defender's doing to give himself space for these shots. With his potential leap this year, with a Hornets collective leap... once Kon Knueppel is back, once Coby White is back, that's where things can start to make a lot of sense for the Charlotte Hornets." 🎙️ @stevejones20: "That's the vision. This is the duo that will take us to the next phase."

"Naz Reid and Charles Lee ensured they cleared the air with each other after the game and are moving past the incident..." 👀 More insights in Rod Boone's "Hive Vibes Newsletter" below!

After 5 games, the Charlotte Hornets are #1 in the Southeast Division.

ESPN's Ben Golliver and Zach Kram are divided on whether the Hornets' offseason moves made the current roster better. 🤔 Kram says it's not an overreaction. Golliver calls it one, though he adds that trading Miles Bridges is already shaping up to be a move they will never regret. On the LaMelo Ball trade and the bigger picture, Golliver writes: "The Ball trade could wind up as a win-win for Charlotte and Minnesota, but at some point, the Hornets will need to prioritize talent acquisition and retention rather than careful cap management. Otherwise, they're spinning their wheels." He also says ownership must show a willingness to spend to build around Brandon Miller and Kon Knueppel. (📰 espn.com/nba/story/_/id/5030…)

Here's the play right before Charles Lee called a timeout and appeared to pull Naz Reid aside as they walked to the bench. Unfortunately, DAZN cut away before that interaction was shown (see quote-post below). 🧐 The Pistons scored on back-to-back possessions during a 9-2 run.

🎙️ Brandon Miller: "My teammates trust me. They fight for me every night. So just having their backs on the offensive side and then doing what I can on the defensive side, I think that shows a lot of growth." Postgame Interview:

For what it's worth, Naz didn't look upset and was interacting with his teammates throughout the second half while on the bench. I'm sure there's more context behind Lee's comments, and we may or may not get the full story at some point.

Charles Lee says that Naz Reid "didn't meet our standards in the first half." Naz Reid didn't play in the second half of tonight's loss.

Grayson Allen earned a spot on Shaqtin' a Fool. 😅
