Isn't it odd we're still doing the same shit?
As TwitchCon and The Game awards inch closer I find myself a bit shocked that almost 12 years later, we are still using Twitter as a "roll call" moment to see who's attending and getting connected.
Besides the security concerns around those actions (it's not always safe to announce when and where you will be with strange folks out there) I think this needs to evolve. Some apps have systems especially for professional events like games beat and CES, but it's not doing what creators need it to do.
I look to tools like
@HotDropApp that is focused on connecting creators and aligning on opportunities. There are better ways to do this far beyond the capabilities of reddit and discord. I hope to see the platform grow.
