Throughout the 119th Congress, @HouseCommerce has led the charge in conducting a wide-ranging investigation into the pervasive fraud in Medicaid and Medicare.
Our Committee recently introduced a package of bills to streamline data collection and availability to detect fraud, bolster anti-fraud enforcement, and incentivize fraud-fighting efforts so that states and the federal government can more effectively defend taxpayer dollars and safeguard important federally funded health programs.

Wonderful to join USDA Under Secretary for Rural Development Glen Smith for a visit to Meller Family Health Center in Fort Madison.
We toured the facility and discussed the importance of health care access in rural communities. I was proud to secure $2.1 million in Community Project Funding to help make this facility a reality.
Meller Family Health Center is a lifeline for the community. Thank you to the incredible first responders and staff for welcoming us and for all you do for Lee County!

The Democrats’ “Medicare for All” plan comes with a hefty price tag: $47 TRILLION over the next 10 years.
This is the burden the Left wants to put on American families, all to expand government control over healthcare and provide taxpayer-funded services to illegal aliens.

Increasing access to healthcare services that are tailored to our rural communities was one of my priorities from day one and through the creation of the Rural Health Transformation Fund we are doing just that. New York will receive an historic $76 million federal investment in rural health networks, tele-health and coordinated care. Faster treatment, fewer costly hospital visits and better access for families across NY23. This is how we are saving lives: wellsvillesun.com/blog/2026/…

The Mystic Alerts Act has officially been signed into law!
The tragedy at Camp Mystic changed countless families forever, including my own. My two granddaughters survived those devastating floods, but their cousin, Janie Hunt, tragically lost her life.
Nothing can bring back the lives lost that day, but we have a responsibility to act and I thank @POTUS for signing this important legislation into law and to my colleagues in Congress for coming together to help protect American families and prevent future tragedies.

I am grateful that President Trump signed the Mystic Alerts Act into law today. After the devastating July 4th floods, it was clear that families in rural communities can’t be left in the dark when cell networks go down. By bringing satellite technology into our emergency alert system, we’re making sure warnings reach people when they need them most.
I’m thankful to Senator @JohnCornyn for championing the Mystic Alerts Act in the Senate and to Chairman @SenTedCruz for moving it through the Senate Committee on Commerce. This law is a major step forward for emergency preparedness, and it means more Americans will get the warnings they need, no matter where they live.

I’m proud that my bipartisan Critical Infrastructure Manufacturing Feasibility Act was signed into law, helping bring manufacturing back to America and create good-paying jobs for Iowans.
America cannot continue outsourcing the production of critical goods and good-paying manufacturing jobs to foreign adversaries like Communist China. We must strengthen domestic manufacturing, secure our supply chains, and ensure America can produce the essential materials our nation depends on. 🇺🇸

President Trump’s $25 million whistleblower incentive program helps hold fraudsters accountable by protecting and rewarding those who expose waste, fraud, and abuse.
My Medicaid Whistleblower Protection Act would strengthen protections for those who speak up. Whistleblowers who raise legitimate concerns should be protected, not punished for doing the right thing.

My bipartisan Critical Infrastructure Manufacturing Feasibility Act was just signed by President Trump and is now law!
This legislation lays the groundwork for bringing manufacturing back to the U.S. and creating good-paying jobs for Iowans. I’m proud to have led this legislation to put American jobs first! 🇺🇸

As a member of the Energy and Commerce Committee, I'm committed to rooting out waste, fraud, and abuse. In under a 90 day period, we took swift and decisive action against 50 high-risk Medicaid providers, halting over $203 million in potentially improper payments. This protects your tax dollars and ensures resources are spent on those who truly need it.

Iowa taxpayers work hard to fund programs for those who truly need them, and fraudsters should never get a dime of it. That's why I signed the Vice President's Pledge to Protect Americans from Fraud.
I will always fight to stop fraud before payments go out the door, protect seniors and the vulnerable from scammers, and make sure those who cheat the system face justice. 🇺🇸

Proud to join Vice President JD Vance in pledging to crack down on fraud, protect vulnerable Americans, and ensure taxpayer dollars go to those who truly need them.
Every dollar stolen by fraudsters is a dollar taken from the American people. It's time for accountability!

Easy yes from me!
Proud to sign @VP’s pledge to fight fraud. The @WHFraudTF and @HouseGOP have been laser-focused on ensuring American taxpayer dollars are not stolen by scammers.
I’ve been leading this effort on @HouseCommerce by introducing the Strategic Task Force on Scam Prevention Act, which passed Committee and will soon head to the House floor.
Protecting Americans and their hard-earned dollars from scams and fraud is a priority I’ll keep fighting for.

Taxpayers work too hard for their money to see it wasted on fraud.

Republicans in Congress agree: fraudulently taking advantage of federal health care programs is WRONG!
Thank you Dr. Oz and @HHSGov for working to protect these benefits, stop fraud and support our vulnerable populations.
SIGNED! ✍️🇺🇸

Fraudsters aren't just stealing taxpayer dollars. They're robbing vulnerable Americans of the resources they need most.
Alongside the @VP , @WHFraudTF and my @HouseGOP colleagues, I pledge to continue standing against fraud to protect taxpayer dollars and ensure critical assistance reaches the Americans who depend on it.
