Throwback interview of legendary Port Arthur Texas rapper, Pimp C, where he was critiquing ATL’s southern diplomacy, and rather the ATL’s influence in hip hop would ultimately be the demise of southern rap dominance as it’s known. Pimp C’s main critique was the “lack of social commentary” in the music, a sentiment that can be heard echoed in today’s current algorithms about the climate of hip-hop, where it’s headed and how it got here. It’s an incredibly layered topic and Pimp C raises a couple of genuine points in this rant.
