Idk if I mentioned this but I finally got into The Terror and polar exploration in general because I’ve been writing about the taxonomic history of whales for fun since 2024. So if anyone has questions specifically about Victorian polar whales, plz do not hesitate 🐋🐳🐬

Mesmerizing animation by @anish2good answers the burning question of how many spinning circles it takes to draw North America. One circle misses the coast by 1,145km. Ten circles by 352km. 405 circles get's you within 13km.

One of my favorite things about Tinto Brass is how much of a fan of body hair he was. It was never filmed as something that took away from the protagonists' femininity or beauty, but rather as a natural and even celebrated thing. I just think that's neat.
