There Are Nine Types of People Based on How They Use or Reject AI. Which One Are You? I was recently thinking about how Luddites and Doomers are not the same kind of people. While they both might be extremely skeptical about the future and concerned about AI catastrophe, they do not interact with AI in the same way, nor do they think about similar problems. So I thought it would be a fun exercise to map out the different kinds of people who use AI, based on how skeptical or enthusiastic they are about the technology and how often they use or do not use it. Fundamentally, I think how people think about AI and how they engage with it do not always align, and I wanted to chart out the different kinds of AI users and non-users. (See figure below.)

Went to an event today in Chinatown, NYC, where people discussed AGI. The elevator we took to get there was a 100 year old manual freight elevator with an accordion gate. This was being operated by an older gentleman. The irony of life.
