Some might think this is just for the campaign. But I’ve known and witnessed this over the years, long before this campaign began. In India, even on personal medical trips, @faisalnasym would make time to meet Maldivian families seeking treatment and understand their circumstances and challenges. During his visits to Malaysia, I’ve seen him take the time to speak with students, ask about their lives, and understand the challenges they face. Sharing this because people should know about the person beyond the politics.

MDP’S DEAFENING HYPOCRISY! When Fenaka Saeed was tried and jailed, MDP held a press conference to defend him. Its leaders took to Twitter to condemn what they called an unjust trial and imprisonment. Now Dheena is being tried in the very same case. Yet MDP’s outrage has vanished. Saeed was Fenaka’s Managing Director. Dheena was a staff member carrying out her duties under orders. She took no bribes and received no undue financial benefit from her work. She is simple being sacrificed to make the case against Saeed look more credible. Now the question is w here is MDP’s press conference ? Where are those MDP leaders who condemned Saeed’s trial and jailing on X? The issue is not whether Saeed deserved a defence. Anyone facing an unjust trial deserves one. The question is why MDP fought so loudly for him but has seemingly abandoned Dheena. Dheena is medically unfit, a single mother of two minor children who will also bear the consequences of her imprisonment. She is the one who needs even more support, yet the powerful voices that could stand up for her and her children are nowhere to be heard. MDP’s silence exposes its hypocrisy: justice for its own, abandonment for the vulnerable! @MDPSecretariat
