🧡 NATIVE AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH 🧡 Native American Heritage Month is a time to celebrate the cultures, histories, traditions, creativity, leadership, and continued contributions of Native peoples and Tribal Nations. It is also a reminder that Native history is not only history, Native communities are living, growing, creating, and shaping the world around us today. There is no single Native American experience. Tribal Nations have their own distinct histories, governments, languages, traditions, and relationships with their lands. Honoring Native heritage means making space for those differences while also learning about the histories of colonization, displacement, broken treaties, boarding schools, and cultural suppression that Native communities have endured. This month is an opportunity to learn from and uplift the Native people who are creators, artists, gamers, storytellers, leaders, and community builders within the spaces we share. Celebration should come with action: listening to Native voices, supporting Native led organizations and businesses, learning about Tribal sovereignty, and challenging stereotypes that treat Indigenous cultures as something of the past 🧡 🔗 We’ll be sharing resources below to learn more about Native American history and cultures, along with organizations where you can donate and directly support Native communities and Native led work. Happy Native American Heritage Month from OhgawdEvents! 🧡

🏳️‍⚧️ TRANSGENDER AWARENESS MONTH 🏳️‍⚧️ Trans people have always been part of our communities, our history, and the spaces we share. Transgender Awareness Month is an opportunity to celebrate trans lives and joy, uplift trans voices, learn from their experiences, and continue building greater understanding and respect. Visibility matters, but awareness should go beyond simply knowing that transgender people exist. It also means challenging misinformation and stereotypes, respecting people’s names and pronouns, protecting their privacy, listening when trans people share their experiences, and recognizing that there is no single way to look, live, or identify as transgender. Belonging means being able to enter a community without having to hide or explain who you are. Across our players, creators, staff, broadcasts, events, and the communities surrounding them, we want trans and gender diverse people to know there is a place for them here. Respect should never depend on whether someone understands another person’s identity or experience. This month, we encourage our community to seek out trans voices, support trans creators, learn from trans-led organizations, speak up against harassment and discrimination, and celebrate trans people for their creativity, accomplishments, friendships, leadership, and joy not only the challenges they may face 🩷🤍🩵 🔗 We’ll be sharing resources below to learn more about transgender identities and experiences, along with organizations and links where you can donate and directly support transgender communities.
