APPEAL: Will you be there for little Sabine? 🚨💔
This sweet little girl was rescued from the streets of Tangier, struggling to walk on her back legs. She was frightened, vulnerable and in desperate need of help.
She was rushed straight to the SFT clinic, where tests and X-rays revealed that the bones in her leg had fused. We can only imagine how scared Sabine must have been.
Yet despite everything she had been through, this little puppy trusted the team completely. She knew she was finally safe 🥺
Now, Sabine faces an uncertain future.
The team will be watching her closely as she recovers, but there is a possibility that she may eventually need a wheelchair to help her get around. If so, she’ll become one of SFT’s very special ‘Wheelie Babies’ 🐾
But whatever the future holds, one thing is certain... Sabine needs your help now.
This little girl needs sponsors to support her medication, treatment, care and vaccinations, as well as any additional support she may need in the future, including a wheelchair 🥺
She has already been through so much. Now she needs people willing to stand beside her as she learns to navigate a whole new world at the sanctuary.
Will you help us give Sabine the care she so desperately needs?

MYTH: The only way to help stray dogs is to find them forever homes 🏡🐶
FACT: Adoption can give an individual stray dog a wonderful second chance at life, but it’s only one part of the solution.
When it comes to tackling stray dog populations, we also need to look at WHY so many dogs are ending up on the streets in the first place, and what we can do to help break that cycle 💔
That means tackling the root causes of the problem, while also providing the veterinary care, community engagement and education, and humane dog population management programmes needed to improve the lives of the dogs already living on the streets.
Most importantly, running humane neutering programmes can help prevent unwanted litters from being born into lives of suffering. Because while finding a home for one dog changes that dog’s life for the better, preventing unwanted puppies from being born can help break the cycle for generations of dogs to come.
That’s why humane, sustainable dog population management is at the heart of so much of our work.
There’s no single solution to the global stray dog crisis. But by looking beyond individual dogs and tackling the root causes of the problem, we can create lasting change for animals and the communities they live in ❤️
From heartbreak and neglect to GLAMPING with her wonderful family! 🥹❤️🏕️
It’s hard to imagine that once upon a time, Neko was a terrified and anxious little dog with a broken hip and severely matted fur, who was underweight and suffering from skin and ear infections and tick fever as a result of severe neglect.
She absolutely hit the jackpot with her amazing forever family, and last week she went on her very first glamping adventure! 🐕🐾
We think it’s safe to say that this once-scared little girl is now living her BEST life! ✨
If you’d like to help create more happy endings like Neko’s, one of the easiest ways to make a difference is by becoming an IAPWA monthly donor today: bit.ly/iapwa-RG
Thank you for helping us change Neko’s life and for being there for all of the other dogs who need us ❤️
Sweet Burns continues to get better ❤️🩹
We have another lovely update to share about brave girl Burns 🥰
Her treatment continues to go well, and her wounds are gradually getting smaller as she heals. After everything this sweet girl has endured, it’s so encouraging to see her making steady progress.
Burns was rescued from the streets of Tangier after a cruel member of the public deliberately burned her and left her with severe injuries. Thankfully, she is now getting stronger every day.
Burns still has a little way to go, but the best part is that her happy future is already waiting for her. She has a forever home secured in the Netherlands, and we can’t wait for the day she is well enough to make the journey and start her new life 🏡
Until then, Burns will continue to need veterinary care and support as she recovers and grows in confidence.
Please consider donating towards Burns’ ongoing treatment and helping us get this lovely girl one step closer to her forever home 👇🏽

Brave Paco needs your support again ❤️🩹
Remember lovely Paco? After surviving a horrific hit-and-run that left him with a shattered pelvis, broken vertebrae and a broken leg, this brave boy has come such a long way.
Paco recovered well from his initial injuries and was finally enjoying some much happier days. But recently, the SFT team became concerned when he became very unwell and lost a significant amount of weight in a short space of time.
The vet suspected an intestinal problem, so Paco underwent further investigations, including X-rays to rule out complications such as a mass. Thankfully, nothing like this was found, and after starting treatment and medication, Paco is now feeling much more like himself again 🥰
We’re so happy to see this lovely boy improving and eating well again, but Paco still needs continued monitoring and care while the team work to get his weight and strength back up. He may also need further treatment for his leg, which is still causing him some problems.
After everything Paco has been through, he deserves every chance to keep moving forward and enjoying the happy life he fought so hard to reach.
Please consider sponsoring Paco or making a donation towards his ongoing treatment. Your support means we can continue being there for him, whatever he needs next 👇🏽

These best friends are loving life in their forever home 🥺🤎
We have a lovely update to share on two very special IAPWA patients – Brownie and Phoebe.
After being cruelly abandoned on Penang Island and run over by a car, Brownie was left with two broken legs. Phoebe, meanwhile, was rescued after being horribly abused as a puppy when boiling water was thrown over her.
Both have been through more than any dog should, but today, their lives couldn't look more different ✨
The pair are now best friends, enjoying life together in their wonderful forever home. They spend their days playing in the garden, chasing each other around and making the most of every moment together!
Seeing Brownie and Phoebe so happy, healthy and carefree is a beautiful reminder of just how much can change when a dog is given the love and second chances they deserve.
If you'd like to help us create more happy endings like Phoebe and Brownie's, the easiest way to do this is by becoming an IAPWA monthly donor today: bit.ly/iapwa-RG ❤
BELLE UPDATE ❤️🩹
Remember Belle? This brave girl has been on an incredibly difficult journey – from arriving with our IAPWA Penang team screaming and crying in agony, to being stabilised before making the long journey to a specialist spine surgeon in Selangor.
We’re relieved to share that Belle safely underwent complicated surgery this week to repair and stabilise her broken spine. The surgery was necessary to give her spine the best chance of healing and, most importantly, to relieve the terrible pain she had been suffering.
Sadly, Belle’s chances of ever walking again remain low, and she still faces a long and challenging road of rehabilitation. But despite everything she has been through, we have some truly wonderful news to share.
This week, Belle found out that she has a forever home waiting for her 🏡✨
Whether she regains the use of her legs or not, her future is now secure. She has a family ready to love and care for her, whatever her abilities may be, and a safe and happy home to look forward to once her rehabilitation is complete.
After everything this sweet girl has endured, there is finally a light at the end of the tunnel. Whatever the future holds for Belle, she won’t have to face it alone ❤️
Today is World Rabies Day 🌎💉🐾
Rabies is one of the world’s deadliest diseases, but it is also extremely preventable. A simple vaccination can protect dogs from this devastating disease and, importantly, help protect the people who live alongside them.
That’s why, in the lead up to World Rabies Day, IAPWA partnered with Meru Animal Welfare Organisation (MAWO) in Tanzania to vaccinate 3,500 dogs against rabies 🐕
Every vaccination is a life protected, and every dog vaccinated brings us one step closer to communities where rabies is no longer a threat.
This World Rabies Day, we’re proud to celebrate the incredible work being carried out by organisations around the world to protect dogs, prevent the spread of rabies and help keep communities safe ❤️
🎉 WE DID IT! 🎉
Thanks to your incredible support, we’ve reached our £15,000 fundraising target for our Borneo Shelter matched-giving campaign, unlocking the full £30,000 in funding! 🐕✨
This is a huge milestone for this project and means an additional £30,000 can now be put towards the vital work planned as part of Phase Two, helping to improve conditions for the almost 1,000 dogs and cats who rely on this shelter.
The campaign may be over, but there is still more to do as we continue working through Phase Two and towards the longer-term goal of transforming the shelter and creating a safer future for the animals who depend on it. We look forward to sharing further updates along the way.
Thank you to every single person who donated, shared the appeal or helped spread the word. And a huge thank you to our incredibly generous match funder for making this opportunity possible.
We couldn’t have done it without you ❤️
UPDATE: Belle has travelled for specialist treatment ❤️🩹
This week, we introduced you to Belle, the stray girl who came to us screaming in pain with a severe spinal fracture and a broken leg.
Our IAPWA Penang team have been working tirelessly to find the best possible treatment for her, and yesterday, Belle made the journey from Penang Island to Selangor, where she will be seen by a vet who specialises in spinal surgery 🩻
We still don't know what the future holds for this beautiful girl. The severity of Belle's spinal injury means she may never walk again, but we refuse to give up on her.
After everything she has endured on the streets, Belle deserves the chance to be comfortable and pain-free. And, encouragingly, she has started eating again, giving us a little glimmer of hope during an incredibly difficult time ✨
Her treatment, ongoing care and possible surgery will be costly, and we desperately need your help to give Belle the care she deserves.
Please, please donate to our Animal Care Fund and help us be there for Belle every step of the way 🙏🏼

Thank you for caring about Belle and helping us give this brave girl a chance ❤️
In March 2018, our team in Penang Island and the City Council (MBPP) introduced a humane dog population management programme, replacing the previous regime 🐕🌎
Since the programme began, nearly 9,000 dogs have been part of the project, preventing thousands of puppies from being born on the streets.
Recent surveys were carried out across three routes on the island, with between 54.63% and nearly 91% of the dogs observed having been neutered within those zones, alongside a clear and positive reduction in dog density per km 📉
We would like to say a huge congratulations to our Penang Island team for their incredible dedication and commitment to this project since it was established. The findings from these surveys demonstrate that when humane dog population management is consistently implemented alongside public education, enforcement, and community engagement, the number of un-neutered strays can be effectively reduced in a humane and sustainable way.
Continued collaboration between MBPP, IAPWA, veterinary practitioners, enforcement agencies, and local communities is essential to achieving a long-term, scientifically supported and compassionate stray dog management model for Penang Island. We are incredibly proud of our team on the island for working tirelessly to achieve a better future for the dogs in their community 👏🏼
Congratulations to some of the amazing members of our #AdventuresForAnimals community who summited Mount Kilimanjaro this month 🌄🥾🎉

𝗨𝗥𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗔𝗟: 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 💔
Stray girl Belle came into our care screaming and crying in pain, barely able to drag her body along the floor, with every movement causing her agony.
This poor girl had suffered a severe spinal fracture as well as a broken leg whilst living on the streets of Penang Island. We don't know exactly what happened to her, but we do know she was desperately in need of help.
Thankfully, Belle is now safe in the caring hands of our IAPWA Penang team.
She was rushed to the vets, where she was stabilised with pain relief and anti-inflammatory treatment. But right now, her prognosis remains uncertain. At this stage, the chances of her walking again are unfortunately very low.
Our team are consulting with veterinary professionals and exploring all possible treatment options. For now, our priority is keeping Belle as comfortable and pain-free as possible while we work out the best path forward for her.
Belle's treatment and ongoing care will be costly, and our Animal Care Fund is already dangerously stretched. Will you sponsor this brave, beautiful girl today and give her the fighting chance she deserves? 🙏🏻

Thank you for caring about Belle. We will continue to share updates about her treatment and progress as things develop 💙
Sweet Troy has passed away 💔🌈
We are heartbroken to share that, despite the incredible efforts of the veterinary team, Troy passed away peacefully this weekend.
After weeks of intensive treatment for his cancer and kidney condition, Troy’s kidneys continued to deteriorate and sadly, his body was no longer responding to treatment. The team tried everything they could to help him, but eventually, Troy peacefully crossed the rainbow bridge.
We are so grateful that Troy was surrounded by people who cared deeply for him and did everything possible to give him a chance. He may have come to our team as a stray, but he was loved, cared for and fought for every step of the way.
If you would like to make a donation in Troy’s memory, a gift to our Animal Care Fund would be incredibly appreciated. Your support will help us continue providing veterinary care to other dogs and cats who desperately need it: bit.ly/iapwa-donate
Rest peacefully, sweet Troy. You were loved ❤

A little update from Nova 🐶✨
Nova’s life changed in an instant when she was struck by a car last month, leaving her in agony and desperately needing an emergency leg amputation.
Thankfully, her surgery was a success and she has made a fantastic recovery. And there’s even more lovely news… along the way, Nova has made a very special best friend in fellow patient, little Fips 🥹
Now, these two sweet pups are looking for their forever home TOGETHER 🏡
If you could open your heart and home to Nova and Fips, please reach out to our friends at SFT Animal Sanctuary for more information: sftmorocco.org/contact/
