Iowa finished with 640 yards. It’s the first time the #Hawkeyes have had multiple games of 500 or more total yards in a season since 2006.

Bryce Hawthorne went from the medical tent to the stationary bike then put his helmet on to try to loosen up, all good signs that it isn't a disastrous knee injury as it first appeared.

Iowa FS Zach Lutmer told me today that Iowa State used roughly 35 different looks on offense among its 53 snaps the other night. That's an insane number. Here's what WLB Jayden Montgomery said about those 35 looks and how the Cyclones might've actually helped Iowa prepare for the rest of the season. “The coaches did a good job last week preparing us for what we might see. Coach said we went through like 5 years of tape and still didn’t get all the looks that they ran on us on Saturday. It just speaks to their offensive coordinator and their coaches. They did a great job of scheming us up. But I think it’s very helpful seeing that stuff. We went in on Sunday and looked at all those plays, and now we’re very confident with the checks we were in, the checks we maybe should’ve been in, how we can be better against those same play calls. It’s definitely going to help us moving forward if … teams try to attack us in similar ways.”

Something that I just caught in the rewatch of last night's game for Monday Morning Quarterback: Hank Brown checked into this play at the line of scrimmage. This wasn't the play called by Tim Lester. Brown recognized one-on-one coverage on Diaz, linebackers crept up on the play-action, Brown looks off the one-deep safety with a quick glance to the right and launched the bomb to Tony Diaz. Recognized the opportunity, seized the opportunity. This is how you win the starting quarterback job.

ISU was a 12 point home favorite against a “reset button” Iowa basketball team last year, escaped after a blown out of bounds call Iowa had no timeout to challenge, and you guys celebrated all year. Now reset teams don’t count? 😂😂😂 P.S. we also made an Elite 8 this century
Love this team and this staff. Nobody expected what we are getting. We have a much better team than anyone anticipated. Congrats to Iowa beating a reset button Iowa state on a last minute field goal! You suck😂
