Yesterday, we joined the SeCIU team for an important #DNSSEC ceremony for the .UY domain, during which cryptographic equipment was renewed and new security keys were generated.

🇵🇷 Over the past week, #ICANN’s North America Engagement and Technical Engagement teams have been on the ground at EDP University in San Juan and San Sebastián, connecting with students and educators to strengthen knowledge of how the Internet works and the DNS. 👇
Activities included a dedicated Train-the-Trainers session for university professors, followed by capacity-development sessions with students — combining technical knowledge, practical resources, and opportunities to learn more about the Internet ecosystem.

🌍A busy August for ICANN’s Technical Engagement team!
From Kenya and Rwanda to Türkiye and Tunisia, Yazid Akanho has been engaging network operators, engineers, students & technical community on DNS resilience, DNSSEC, 2026 Root KSK Rollover, IXPs, and how the Internet works.
Today, more than 65 participants are joining @ICANN, the Dominican Institute of Telecommunications (@IndotelRD), the National Cybersecurity Center (@CNCSRD), and the National Intelligence Directorate (DNI) for a specialized workshop on DNS abuse in Santo Domingo. 🇩🇴
During the workshop, #ICANN's @nantoniello is presenting on DNS fundamentals and common forms of abuse, as well as a hands-on investigation of a simulated case. The workshop also covers the evolution of WHOIS toward tools such as RDAP and RDRS, among other topics.
