Today, as a neutral intermediary, we facilitated the release of 94 detainee members of SAF, reuniting them with their families in Zaleingei, #Darfur. We don't negotiate or influence the decision on who is released and when. This decision is taken by the parties to the conflict.

The plight of those still being held hostage is a top priority for us. We facilitated the release of 4 hostages. We are pushing to visit those remaining. But we need the support of all those who have influence to make this happen.

1 month on, civilians in Gaza & Israel are being forced to endure tremendous suffering and loss. And the impact on children is devastating. Parties must uphold their obligations under IHL & spare all civilians from the conduct of military operations. 👇 bit.ly/3soOju0

We are heartbroken to see medical facilities in #Gaza put in harm’s way. 📢 Our urgent call is for the sides to respect & protect them. Medical personnel, including from our partner @PalestineRCS, save lives. They should not have to risk their lives to save others’!

Families are sleeping in the open, with little food and water. The loss of lives & livelihoods is devastating. Under IHL, parties to the conflict must ensure the basic needs of the population. Civilians must be protected. Safe, sustained access is needed to bring in supplies.

Our partners delivered much needed aid to the people of Gaza today.

But this is a drop in the ocean. Many more people need help.

We will keep pushing for a regular flow of humanitarian aid and personnel.
Today, Palestine Red Crescent teams worked on receiving aid from our counterparts in the Egyptian Red Crescent and unloading it onto trucks in preparation for distribution. #Gaza #RafahCrossing #HumanitarianAid
