🤖 How can AI improve kidney cancer diagnosis?
The COMFORT European project, presented by Professor Keno Bressem at the 2026 IKCC Annual Summit, explores how AI can help identify kidney lesions, distinguish benign cysts from tumours and support treatment planning.
🔬 Using 1,629 kidney scans, the project aims to support better-informed decisions and reduce unnecessary surgery, while keeping doctors in control.

🔬 How can we improve treatment for metastatic kidney cancer?
The CARE1 European project, presented at the 2026 IKCC Annual Summit, is a Phase III clinical trial comparing two first-line treatment approaches for clear-cell metastatic kidney cancer.
CARE1 aims to enrol 1,200 patients across Europe and identify biomarkers of treatment response and toxicity, helping support more personalised treatment decisions.
