𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒌 𝒂 𝑻𝒓𝒐𝒐𝒑𝒆𝒓! On October 21, 2026, a motorist pulled into the parking lot of the Troop 4 Metamora Headquarters after experiencing a flat tire while driving past the building. With her husband recently injured and recovering, she had no one available to help and approached the front door seeking assistance. Without hesitation, two Troopers stepped in to help. The two had been inside the headquarters training and processing evidence, but neither thought twice about pausing their duties to assist a member of the community in need. The Troopers quickly and safely changed the woman’s tire, ensuring she was able to continue on her way without further concern. Their willingness to help reflects the commitment and character of the personnel who serve at Troop 4 and Zone 4. Would you like to thank a trooper? He had previously served with the Illinois Department of Corrections for eight years and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He is survived by his wife and son. End of Watch, October 27, 1997 #NeverForget

PFC Stovall left his hometown of East St. Louis to serve in the Army during the Korean War. In July 1950, at the age of 19, he went missing while serving. For decades his remains lay unidentified and his name remained on the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency’s (DPAA) list of those who were still missing. In June 2025, the DPAA positively identified his remains. PFC Stovell was posthumously awarded the Silver Star for his extraordinary bravery. Read full news release: prez.ly/ujoe
