Don’t let bad decisions haunt you – slow down and move over for road crews. One way INDOT continues to increase awareness of workers is through Project Greenlight, a program to equip highway workers with Guardian Angel safety lights. Learn more: bit.ly/47G9wAN

📍I-65 in Scott County Beginning this evening, crews will close the right lane of southbound I-65 between mile marker 34 and mile marker 32 to complete polymer overlay operations. Crews will work from approximately 9 p.m. on Friday to 6 a.m. on Monday, weather permitting.

📍Franklin On/after Fri, 10/30, crews will close the left turn lane from NB U.S. 31 to WB Jefferson St for center curb construction. On/after Mon, 11/2, crews will close Hospital Rd at U.S. 31 for median curb installation. This closure is expected to take up to three weeks.

Look how far we’ve come! The Lewis and Clark Bridge, part of the Ohio River Bridges Project, has been open for ten years. Before it was built, drivers had to travel more than eight miles downtown to cross the river! What a difference this connection has made for drivers!

Earlier today, Gov. Braun joined INDOT to award nearly $110M in state matching funds to 346 communities across the state through Community Crossings. Funds will be used toward local road and bridge improvements. More: bit.ly/3W8FZNG List link: bit.ly/4sqacUo

The I-265 ramp to WB I-64 will be closed on 10/23 and 24 from approximately 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for ramp widening, weather permitting. The ramp will reopen on Sunday, 10/25. Detour: I-64 EB to Exit 123 (Spring St) to 5th St to Market St to Scribner Dr to Spring St back to I-64 WB.

As we mark the 10-year anniversary of the Bridges Project, it’s great to look back at some of the men and women who helped to build the new bridges. Meet Monique Jones, an equipment operator that worked on the downtown crossing as part of the Ohio River Bridges Project.

📍S.R. 46 - Bloomington Tomorrow, Oct. 20: INDOT is scheduled to reduce the speed limit on S.R. 46 from 45 mph to 40 mph between just east of S.R. 446 and just east of Bender Road. Additional information is here: bit.ly/4BkMzAI

📍 U.S. 31 - Sellersburg This Week: Crews will be conducting daytime flagging operations for milling and paving work on U.S. 31 between County Road 403 and Creek Road and between Villa Drive and Triangle Drive.

📍I-64 in Floyd Co. The I-265 eastbound ramp to State St. will be closed on October 16 and 17 from approximately 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for ramp restriping and barrier wall placement, weather permitting. The ramp will reopen on Sunday, October 18.

10 years ago, the Abraham Lincoln & John F. Kennedy Memorial bridges opened in their final configurations, opening 12 lanes of cross-river capacity connecting Louisville & Jeffersonville. In the coming weeks, we’ll celebrate milestones that were part of the historic project.
