🤝INRAE and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) signed their first cooperation agreement in Uppsala this week. The two institutions have accumulated 600+ joint publications since 2020 and worked together on roughly 50 @HorizonEU projects over the past decade, including as fellow members of the European Research Alliance Towards a Chemical Pesticide-Free Agriculture. The agreement gives that longstanding scientific relationship a formal institutional footing, with joint PhDs, researcher mobility and science-policy dialogue on the agenda, spanning food systems, ecosystem resilience, One Health and bioeconomy. Science in action 🎓Young researchers at the heart of TSARA - doctoral contracts, mentoring, and mobility. 🤝Participatory living labs as the connective tissue between science, entrepreneurship and policy. 🌍Members voted to join the IRC for FNSSA — embedding TSARA in the AU–EU science architecture.

🌍Pandemic responses often start too late. The scientific international initiative PREZODE to prevent zoonotic disease emergence, is gaining momentum at the #OneHealthSummit: → @WorldBankGroup and @isdb_group financial support → new countries joining and regional alliances (CEMAC, Pacific Community, Fiocruz) strengthening its global anchoring → now 280+ members across 90 countries → inclusion in @WHOGOARN (Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network, coordinated by WHO) 🤝Prevention at source is scaling up @ird @Cirad @fiocruz @com_cemac @ASPC_GC

📢A global microbiome observatory has just been launched to structure microbiome data at unprecedented scale: 🧬50 cohorts | 25 countries | 5 continents ✅Already 500,000 human microbiome profiles collected → goal: 1 million by 2030 Led by INRAE with VIB-KU Leuven and supported by @Inserm, the initiative will be coordinated by the World Microbiome Partnership, and builds on an alliance of cohorts to produce harmonised, comparable datasets across populations, addressing a key limitation of current microbiome research.
