I don't like El-Sayed. But some of his critics go too far. They need to focus on what he says and does rather than the fact that he sometimes says things in Arabic, and that he is an Arab and a Muslim. None of these things disqualify him. If they offend you, that's on you.

Wow, by this standard, I've given entire speeches in Hebrew, Polish, and Spanish. I've also worn Ukrainian flag pins on the House floor, and Israeli ones at various events, marched in parades with Irish and Italian flags, & worn Indian dress at Hindu festivals.

And this morning, Iran's supreme leader posted that America's collapse "has accelerated."

Here is good news from these Israeli exit polls: In almost no scenario -- minority Eizenkot government, unity government with Likud (possible, but still unlikely in my eyes if Bibi leads Likud) -- will Ben Gvir and Smotrich continue to have the influence they currently enjoy. Likely out of the cabinet altogether, which is clearly the preference of the majority of the Israeli electorate. Ensuring that is the case is an important incentive to the opposition bloc to avoid going to new elections, which would extend the damaging tenure of these extremist ministers.

Mañana, durante el período de incidencias de la Asamblea Nacional, anunciaré la presentación de un artículo nuevo que elimina el subsidio electoral a todos los partidos políticos, sin excepción.
Asimismo, solicitaré al Contralor General de la República una auditoría forense sobre el manejo de los fondos públicos recibidos por todos los partidos políticos durante los últimos 15 años.
La transparencia y la rendición de cuentas deben ser iguales para todos.

El sufrimiento del interior también importa. La capital no fue afectada, pero Herrera, Los Santos y Veraguas sí.
Son casas, iglesias, calles destruidas, carros aplastados, familias que han perdido sus hogares y personas que hoy ven desaparecer sus fuentes de trabajo.
Que no haya pasado en la capital no significa que no esté pasando. El dolor del interior también merece ser visto, escuchado y ATENDIDO.

At the Jewish American Summit in Los Angeles this weekend, Mosab Hassan Yousef told the crowd: "I don't want Muslims in America. Get the f*** out of the United States." A large portion of the crowd applauded and cheered.
This is bigotry, and it should never be met with applause in any room, let alone one at a Jewish event. We call on the sponsoring organizations to condemn this without equivocation.

La Asamblea tuvo una oportunidad de oro para romper con las reglas de siempre y hacer cambios profundos al Reglamento Interno. Pero cambiar las reglas también significa tocar los intereses de quienes se benefician del sistema.

La oposición no se hace de la boca para afuera ni el último año para confundir a los panameños. La oposición es la responsabilidad de fiscalizar, de proponer soluciones distintas y ser un real contrapeso para el gobierno y así garantizar que las decisiones de la asamblea respondan al interés público y no al ejecutivo.
